Thread: PROJECT: DUNELIZARD Do Privateers really have it that bad?
Another thing to consider when comparing the three fighters is how easy they are to hit. The dunelizard is still the easiest to hit, in my experience.
Anyway, the lizard is a great ship, I like it very much ![]()
a shield I crafted, 14.7 recharge, but only 1200 shield points, good for PVE.
a cap that has like 46 recharge 900 max.
spacbomb launcher with 76% mass experimented on.
chaff launcher
I must say my armor sux.
I'm 3443 and still fly this thing. Tier 4- NP. Tier 5, I keep up and could blow one up but it takes too long. The only reason I need the bigger chasis is the mass for more powerful guns.
The 'Liz handles awesome and has like 83k mass. Everyone thinks your new though when they see it. "She may not look like much kid but she's got it where it counts."
To me the dunelizard is SWG's version of "the piece of junk" Luke claimed the falcon to be., Now the falcon was like the lizard in the aspect that it was looked down on, but with the right touch it could be heavily modified.
Now everyone desires the falcon in SWG, that makes it an uber ship that everyone looks up to, contrary to the movies which brings us the lizard, everyone thinks their junk, but few players have really bothered to modify them much.
So tho dunelizard now fills that spot of "what a piece of junk" that can look decievingly weak to most.
I can't wait till when I finally go up the chasis tree. Can you experiment the duneliard mass past 85k or is it capped?

To be honest, I think I'm stating to figure out that Privateers have it better than we think.
Dev Darth_Platypus, in the Stratics Chat, mentioned that the Interceptor is one of the fastest, most maneuverable ships in JTL, and that it has such an advantage, there are no plans to raise the mass. That pretty much puts it on an even keel with the Awing.
Privateers have said that they have no fighter that can hold a candle to the Awing and Interceptor. But others have said that we have the Dunelizard. So, I began a projectto see how well I can get the Dunelizard to handle, having a maximum of 85k mass, which is better than both the Awing (65k mass) and the Interceptor (50k mass).
However, the speed modifier on an Awing chassis is 1.0, and the pitch and yaw is 250. On a dunelizard, the speed modifier on the chassis is a bit lower, 0.95, but the pitch and yaw is much higher, 300. The Interceptor is better than both, having a chassis speed modifier of 1.0 and a pitch and yaw speed of 300. (NOTE: The Advanced runs a close second to the Interceptor.)
So, I started with the engine.I managed to get a level 8 engine reversed engineered to a whopping 108.7 speed, and high 70's for the rpy, with a moderately high20k mass.
Then, I RE'da capacitor, a level 6, yielding an 1187 energy with 45.7 regen capacitor, that weighs in at a mere 7k mass.
I had an old level 1 droid interface laying around. Only 468 mass, but 13 speed. So in it went.
I also found a 13k energy lvl 3 reactor that weighs in at 3k mass. At this point, I still have about 55k mass to play with!!
My next step is to find a decent shield, around lvl 5 or 6, that can also be reverse engineered to have much less mass. If not, a master shipwright can make a pretty good low mass shield with decent regen. I probably will go without armor, or very light armor.
Decent weapons will be a headache to accomplish, I think, as I am determined to fill both hard points and the launcher spot. I have a v6 flight computer with engine overload 3, weapon overload 3, and reactor overload 3. I probably will add shield reinforce chip as well.
So, then,I went out and tested it. I could hardly believe the results. With engine overload 3 activated, my cruise speed was 1338, with boost it was 1620, and optimum turning speed was around 1000....in a Dunelizard!! If someone wants to take the time to do their ship right, they certainly can, as components like these are not as difficult to find/make as even I initially thought. ![]()
I'll edit this post as I make more progress. Please feel free to make comments/suggestions. ![]()
I yesterday started privateer on my alt and was amazed at the base stats of the dunelizard (a tier 1! fighter after all) and the possibilites this ship offers for privateers up to aces.
Edit: Just wanted to add that since the mass changes a Kihraxz can now go toe to toe with an Interceptor or A-Wing in my experience. The extra 10k mass allows you to fit a decent engine in them now to go with a good gun. The only real way this doesn't match up with the Interceptor or A-Wing is actual size, it makes the Kihraxz easier to hit since it's so much larger.
