SWG won't work on Linux, you can still dual boot your PC though one Windows base partition for playing SWG, and your other for Linux. I think one of the major emmulator programs can't recall the name is working on a shell to allow you to run DX9 games on linux if or when that will pan out I don't know though.

wrong answer.. SWG does work on linux..
Cedega 4.2 (formerly Transgaming WineX) plays SWG just fine.

Wow...I didn't expect to see something like that. This has me tempted to dualboot on my main system (running primarily Windows currently) just to try this out.

Nonsense, i have only ever played SWG on linux (and JTL too), i dont even have a machine with windows on. You can do it using Transgamings Cedega.

While what you are saying maybe true (I don't know as I stay as far from Linux as I possible can) the fact is, SWG on Linux is unsupported. If the game crashes, you have an ingame bug, anything, too bad. SOE won't even look at the problem if the OS is not a supported OS. Now, you can play the game on Linux and hope for the best, but don't cry if an item disappears from your inventory, or if the game freezes up in battle while Jedi grinding, because you will get very little from SOE (and this is to be expected)

When I say supported, I am talking about SOE, not the emulator program. It may work fine and all the power to those that get it to work, but if something goes wrong ingame, SOE may not help you fix it.

In fact -as far as I know- SWG is supported under Cedega. JTLS is not yet officially supported but there are reports of successful use. Anyway, check their homepage on support policy.

Really, can you repeat what OS it runs on. Right not windows. There has to be some emulation of some kind in order for it to run windows programs. It may be better then your standard EMU, but it is still an emulator. Regardless the point is, SOE DOES support the windows OS and that is the only one written on the box when you bought the game.
Most stability problems that SWG faces are due to driver bugs and problems with the client. Problems you can and will have even on this emulator. I can't say anything for speed as I have never tried it. I am interested in trying it out just for fun if anyone can post a link to the website.

Cedega provides an directx api for linux. There are no or little emulation.
Ive been running swg flawlessly on linux with cedega. It's still x86 code.
