Space.....Just isnt played that much. We have all heard rumors of a new JTL xpak with Capitol ships and the like. What i am about to suggest takes this ideal one step further and will save SWG and make it Unique again and now just some clone of "other" games.

Capitol Ships. Start out with small ones, Corvettes, Lancer Frigates, Nebulon-B frigate so forth. 5-10 Turrets for Guns, 2-5 Turrets for MISSLES, and 2 Turrets for CHAFF launchers.

YES WE KNOW THIS IDEAL, ITS OLD.

Next....

Player SPACE STATIONS....

Turrets controlled by players, the GUILD HALLS of Space, work in conjunction with guild halls on ground if needed. Capitol ships can then attack Stations. Stations defended by gun and missle turrets, and sheilds.

Yeah Heard that one too, so heres the kicker......

After the Shields and guns are blown up....INVADE!!!!! The Capitol ship then boards the station, and then "ground style" pvp will commence. The raiding party tries to blow up a base, impliment faction base requirenments to blow it up, the Station defenders then have to defend it. This would make SWG truely unique and make old customers come back and generate new customers.

Also you can have capitol ship to capitol ship boarding also like in EP 4,

What do you think??

we definatly need better loot, the fact is the reamining shipwrights cant be bothered keeping there vendors stocked, so if your not in a guild with a good SWyour Sh!t out of luck. So unnerf the dang space loot.

Also make one squadron out of every faction easy enough for the crappy pilot to get through and most importantly lower the whacked out xp requirements in teir 4. 500k per box is more then enough.

Those things alone with get people into space, gaurenteed, but goodness knows our local fanboi aces will complain if any of the above happened. Its a double edged sword boys, you complain about having no one to pvp with and space being so empty but your against any ideas to get more people in space.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- I support NO DECAY.It should be run like EQ . No 20k price cap on the bazar and everyone can craft. Its has worked for 7 years on everquest and there is no decay plenty of money and no crazy prices.

Decay is only good for crafteres and bad for everyone else.

1 Mill per box is a bit extreme, especially since it's all duty, and no actual missions. I only managed to get through it with 4X XP

It's supposed to make you a better pilot, and is needed. This isn't the ground game, your skills (the skills of the player) are what matters and to get through it without the talents drilled into their minds is folly

Yes, as it is now Master Pilot title actually means something, requirement should be left as it is. There just needs to be a better reason to go out into deep space and such.

Replace freedom station with a Mon Cal Cruiser and make it so the ISD and cruiser occasionalyfly past each other and start shooting and things'll pickup a bit.

1 million per box is perfectly reasonable, no need to change it. Most of the time if youdo your storyline mission (making sure to get shots on most ships even if you've got helpers with you), and take a Destroy Duty and fly it to completion, you will have your experience to train, or be very close to it. Some story missions and Duties end up being less xps overall, and you may need to take 2 duties, but since the duty itself is shorter, it doesnt take any longer to complete.

Of course my post will probably bringa flamebait knee jerk response from Xstarbracer, because he thinks he knows who I am and how I play. Let me just say preemptively that while I play JtL a lot, and love to fly, I'm really not some l33t flightsim guy like he likes to paint me as. I call this game easy because it is, not because Icame in witha godly amount of skill and experience. I play this sim a lot, and I know my stuff, and I've been in it since the early stages of beta. I look at it objectively, and I do the math before I say things like 'this xp requirement is too high/low' or 'thismission payout needs to be adjusted'

As for the original post and back on topic, I have to say that your ideas aren't new or unique. They are nice, and would be great additions to the game, but I don't see them as "saving" anything.

In that case, no offense, but that's not enough to actually bring people into space.

There needs to be missions for post-master(No fault of SOE, the pilot profession is filled with missions, sand fun missions (besides escorts :@)), for Jump to Lightspeed to be used more regularly.

If you want to save JTL you need to make Escort Missons into something thats not the worse thing in the entire game (causethey arenow). Captial Ships and Player Space Stations wouldn't be that bad of an idea as long as there are room for them and it doesn't get too crowded. Space Stations should be like cities, not guild halls, and there should be a very limited amount of them allowed. I don't want space to be super populated.

Saying anything will save this game is a very bold statement. Saying anything in space will save it is even more bold and likely not possible. There are many people leaving not because space sucks but because they game is confusing and lost much of its familiar feel after the CU.

I do think we need to see more loot in space. We need to see the devs give us more loot period.

I think key concerns are many. The over nerfing of Melee classes, The over buffing of some mobs ( probably by accident ) the willingness to drop changes on us that are unpleasent and then providelittle or no support when it has problems. I know a couple people who were unable to respect for a week and there was no help for them at all.

I wish I understood how this game got where it is. I know it seems to have involved a multitude of decisions that left the players feeling cheated and sponged. Any other game give you only 1 toon? Any other game for you to learn every class to do anything? Any other game rebuild in the middle? Asheron's Call did do a creature rebalance a couple years ago. It resulted in what think was over half of the players leaving and most likely many never returned.

I most often feel SOE is proving the least they have to in order to get my money and that feeling is what they need to fix most in order to save this game. I'm am honestly sure they can because look how many people are here and playing in spite of the massive number of issues that remain. The lag, the hostility toward us and relatively low content amounts available.

I wish they had spent the money they've used in advertising to add more content. Every dungeon, every cool mission added to this game is that much more money in the bank for years to come.

Housing in space would be cool as well.

Before the ISDs go everywhere, the lag they entail must be mitigated.
