Well, He11 has finally froze over. Never thought I would see the day when some 'person' would say that crafters ruin the game. I can see that this statement come from a 'person' that have never used a crafting tool in his/her SWG life and has no clue how much time, money, and resources is required to craft quality items. On all the crafters I play (mBio-Engineer, mWeaponsmith, mDroid Engineer, mShipwright, mArtisan, mArmorsmith, mArchitect - yes, multi accounts ALL pure crafters!) I have never had over 10mil in any one bank account at any one time. I NEVER charge over the top for my items. Over half my profits go into the City I live in. The only moron I see here is you. Your lack of experience in a crafting role has shown through. I am glad you are not on my home Galaxy...

Your loot/quest rewards (weapons) are unbalanced. You changed crafting weapons because you said we were able to create things out of balance, you nerf our abilities, you nerf our resources, and you nerf our system to make everything the same and keep focus in one main area of experimentation at a time. Then you go and drop pistols and rifles 32-dps+ and SAC so low it would require every point of crafting we have to reach, meaning our DPS would 70-80 points lower than the loot guns. That is NOT balance. Your weapons are out of balance because a crafter cannot compete with them.

Nerf quest item and loot or bring up the abilities of the crafter. Give an overall 10-15 point reduction to all weapon SAC costs to give us a chance to at least make something that might be better if the crafter understands their profession. At this point nothing we can make would serve any purpose. It would take krayt tissue with a speed reducer of -2.0 and a dmg rating of 180+ for us to even approach the stats of your pistols and carbines and rifles, so bring base tissue dmg up to 100 and increase speed reducers to a minimum of -1.0. Also give us an enhancer line for barrels and scopes that will allow us to either increase damage, speed, or reduce SAC.

If you want a crafting community, and I mean any kind of a crafting community at all, your crafters must be able to compete with and EXCEED most of the loot in the game, and those that they cannot exceed need to be made non-ADK enabled so they eventually perish and that person must start buying again. You're killing us, DEVs. Maybe all the n00b smiths take our place, but the quality will be terrible because they don't know what they are doing, and they will eventually leave as well when they discover that they cannot make a decent living off the 4-5 weapons sold per day to grinders.

Despite all your efforts, your game is even more unbalanced now than it was Pre-CU. Combat may be "slightly" more balanced, but everything else is out of balance. And I say combat is more balanced with tongue in cheek because Master Defender is WAY out of balance.

Hmm, thats weird, I had a Rifle crafted thats better than any looted or quest reward in the game.

Hopefully your voice will be heard. I'm sure that's one of the reasons that Fel resigned.


Anyways, this is a HUGE issue, devs. Like Mor said, if you truly want a crafting community then re-read his comments, he sums it all up right there. If not, let us know now so that we can reroll all those wasted skill points into what you truly want us to be, blind quest loot monkeys.

I guess now isn't a good time to say, but I have crafted weapons with lower SAC than my quest ones.

No offense, but you're talking total rubbish. Both my crafted(post CU) adv. laser and T-21 are better than any of the new RotW quest rifles Ive aquired.

One of the people I know in game has several crafted carbines which are at least equal to the Proton Carbine.

Maybe, as a corresponant, you should be running some extensive testing before you start trying to get the coolest thing to happen to SWG since launched nerfed, rather than just going on rumour from crafters who evidently cant be arsed to put some effort into their crafting.

If you have done extensive testing, show us the data that proves it is impossible for your to better the RotW items.

considering that all the crafting is new again, and i doubt anyone has made the best possible weapons yet, the crafters constantly wanking because of quest rewards is getting silly.

CU stands for Combat Upgrade Not Crafting Upgrade.

I always thought the new guns were going to be like the Geo Schmatic, something a crafter would have to make

Giving a already crafted gun is an insult to the crafters along with all the nerfs and making minings sucide runs ( and lazy )

I'm not even a crafter, I'm a Jedi who ruins the GCW and makes people quit.

What is insulting is the fact that crafters seem to think that nobody should be able to get any items in SWG from anyone but them. So we finally have some good loot weapons that are not horribly overpowered and dont take a month of solid loot-camping to get; so what, you can make comparible weapons, get over yourselves.

Combat characters deserve the chance to get some cool rewards for all their questing, rather than just a fecking "Imperial Plans 3/4" and a couple of thousand credits.

No. Im goddamn sick of loot schematics. Im sick of having to spend hours looking for a smith willing to craft a weapon from a schemtic I bring without charging a massive fee, Im sick of having to camp for componants which are purely there as a way to slow down the aquisition of the item, and Im sick of crafters saying there should be no loot in the game that doesnt require them to be involved at some stage for it to be useful.

I'm a great advocate of the Reverse Engineering option, even if it's just an option for weaponsmiths in the radial for the weapon which turns said weapon into a 5-15 use schematic, but combat characters should not be required to see a crafter for every single bloody item possible to aquire in SWG that actually has a use.
