That may have something to do with resource quality.

I believe that quite a few Pre Cu components, especialy those from the Themeparks, now substantialy exceed the stats on their post CU equivalents.

As the stocks of these components go down there may well be a sharp drop in weapon quality.

They say that Jedi represent the best the Galaxy has to offer, they are smart, noble, wise, honourable and selfless, an example to us all. Jedi, they say, are like Eagles.
They also say that Bounty Hunters are dishonourable, cowardly killers with no respect for life or honour, who strike from ambush and exist only to kill. We are, they say, like Weasels.
Bounty Hunters are Weasels, Jedi are Eagles ? I can live with that, Eagles may soar but Weasels don't get sucked into Skyhopper jet intakes.

Many of the quests/rewards can be viewed as insulting to certain professions.

Don't use a WS, just run a missions and get a nifty weapon. Don't go to a CH, just buy the expansion and get a new mount. Don't go to an AS, just run the clone armor quest. Don't involve DEs, just run missions for cybernetic parts. And don't use a player Doc to install or remove them, use an NPC.

As another poster said, this was a combat upgrade. However, if you don't support and balancethe professions that support the combat players, pretty soon the combat players will run out of the supplies they need for combat because no one will be making them.

Hmm, thats weird, I had a Rifle crafted thats better than any looted or quest reward in the game.

It might have been made with pre-CU components. Pre-CU components converted to have negative SAC, where as ones crafted post-CU have position SAC. Pre-CU stocks that are left in their crafte also maintain their 40/40 damage bonus, where as post-CU stocks no longer add to damage.

Damn why not just remove loot from the game?

The Devs already killed off loot wh0res. Not a single premium crystal has dropped since the CU, Krayts are easily solo'd, CA drop rates have been nerfed to hell.

All that remains are loot weapons that all have about the same stat. Nothing is exceptional everything is average. Crafted guns are what, 10% worse than the best looted guns. But does it matter? Nope, anything a few levels under you can be solo'd easily anything a few levels above is either snared and kited to death or you can't kill.

Looting is dead in this game as there is nothing exceptional to loot anymore. Crafting is dead as everything is average there too.

Crafters and looters both had their game destroyed in the CU, go back and whine on your crafting boards or at least do us the favor of actually reading a looting board and realize that looting for exceptional items was hit just as hard as crafting exceptional items.

All we have is mediocrity with pretty graphics in this game any more. Instead of 1 uber weapon type, there are now 10 weapons for each profession each with the same stats as any other professions weapons.

Id love to get the crafters more involved in these loot quests. Turning loot drops into say 1 use schems would be great with me more flavor and customization in the game. Also comunity, This is a comunity driven game and cooperation between different proffession to create really cool stuff is what I like. I like loot I like quest based stuff but I dont think it should be the exclusive thing neither should crafting. Looted weapons that are good should be insanely hard to get like the neccrosis drop. I shouldnt have to kill 2 bunnies and pick up a twig and get the best 1 handed weapon in the game.

Weaponsmith is a very hard proffession to work with and the new loot is a slap in the face to many.

Reverse engineering is the way to go.........

Combat people like myself are sick of getting draft shcematics but Crafters need to compete with loot. The answer is reverse engineering.

I did the Weaponsmith grind and I tried it out for a few months after I mastered it, I know that is the hardest profession in the game. That is why Looted equipment should be able to be reverse engineered and looted equipment should be a middle of the road compared to what a Crafter can do with the reverse engineered weapon.

Not saying looted crap should be subpar to basic crap crafted by a 10 PT smith, but I'm saying crafters should have the ability to gian content off loot, just as much as combat people and vice versa.

I like schems cause I know a great ws just cause you dont talk to crafters doesnt mean crafters dont exist. Im all for reverse engineering though wish it would happen also that quest in teh myydril caves is it worth anything for ws its hard justifying another 30 dollars on an alt account.

Call me silly but... loot weopons and quest weopons are 2 entirely seperate subjects. Loot can be had over and over (and are most often crap) and generally quest items have a maximum of one per player per lifetime of the character. So I think that quest items that are worked hard for and adventured for might get just a little edge over your factory run.
That being said, the quest rifle and carbine I have seen so far are no match for what Master SmithNurrssekk is crafting this very minute on Eclipse. And while I'll admit that his a most excellent smith and always seem to surprise me, surely he isnt the only one doing better than the two quest weopons I have seen. Now action cost, which is ever important to ranged nowadays, is special on these quest weopons. But thats good right, I mean I worked two days for it, compared to the 50 you have crated for to put on your vendor.

ADK you say? again one per player per lifetime of the character, and even then only one per account, not like we get one on every server. So here this guy is with 3 nice quest weopons,6 nice smithed weopons and now he must choose what to ADK. Maybe it's your gun maybe it's not.

My point here is, there is always gonna be something out there better than what you can make. Of course there are lots going round and if they don't have them they are doing quest. I'm doing quest for all sorts of weopons I don't need. Christ I'm thankful for a little new content since I haven't had a new quest to do in about a year. And I'm even happier if my shiny trophy has an edge over some noobs 50k rifle.

I am still buying weopons, I call my Master Smith up occasionally to let him know I found experiment tapes or tissues for him, see if he has done anything lately that would make himself smile.

My 2 creds, goodluck I hope you get everything you need to make you happy.

EDITTED: I would like to see some schems for our smiths, lets get some fun going for everyone. Looted schems, special crafting quest schems, something would be nice. I cannot deny the crafting community has been neglected.

It is my hope that are fixing to start "fix" sweeps for every proffesion, maybe every 2 weeks address a new proff.
