Thread: Deep Space going nuts?

Is anyone experiencing any weirdness with Deep Space where the framerates would suddenly dip, rise, dip, rise, going completely crazy? And occassionally corvettes would pop on and off your screen when this happens? It's never done this to me until this morning =/

This doesn't happen in Kessel or Kashyyyk or anywhere else.. just Deep Space

I have been experiecing some very bad lag(fps) problems in deep space myself too. My fps always would be pegged at 30 before the cu/rotw and now it will drop below 10 in deep space. The problem seems to lie with the star destroyer for me. When something(npc or player)is attacking the sd, the amount of fire coming from it now seems to be about 4 times more than it used to be. This is when my fps drops down to being unplayable. If it stops firing, my fps go right back up to 30 and everything is nice and smooth as it should be. I reallyhope something will be done about this as it is making deep space unplayable

I have experienced this problem or at least something similar. To me it's like extreme lag and warping/rubberbanding all in one. When it is happening it makes DS unplayable for me. It has happened to me a few time now and started after ROTW went live. However there have been time when I have no problems. It is very annoying though since as I said it makes DS unplayable for me.

I've noticed periodic lag spurts caused by the ISD. It seems that every so often it does a visual laser blitzkrieg all over the place and paints the sky with green. However, I've been caught in this several times and I only get hit by the normal lasers. The ones that fire all over don't actually do anything but freak you out and drop framerate.

Furthermore, I personally took out 90% of the turrets on the ISD, and when this went off the lasers would come pouring out of posts where I know there weren't any guns any more. Plus, there's the whole thing where half of these guns shoot through the hull, which is a moot point I guess since they don't harm anything but your framerate.

Methinks theres a bug.

yup, when the ISD is under attack I lose 10fps at least, from nearly anywhere in the zone. it helps to turn down my viewing distance sometimes, but not much.

in the mornings after a reboot DS is virtually unplayable, I have to come back later on in the day after thing's have cooled off a tad in there.

I've mentioned a few lag problems with Deep Space and the ISD in particular to the devs. They did make some changes to reduce asteroid-based lag, so these things are an issue for them.

its not so much the lasers on the ISD, it is the shield hits...same happens when the rebel station is attacked. the shield hit effect is so large on these that it causes lag across all of deep space...

but no one seems to pay attention to anyone reporting the shield hit lag.....

Yeah, the shield hit does it too, though the laser thing lags me more than that one (which blinds me as well, at close range).

The shield dealis bad too when you have a bunch of guys pelting on the hull. Both caused me a lot of lag when I went after the thing.

Its due to the imperial star destroyer... That thing has 100 guns on it.. and when a rebel gets close to it.. THEY ALL fire off.. thus the lag.

The problem with the ISD is that the ships that get close enough to aggro it treat it like any other normal-sized target, and fly right into the hull, and get stuck there.

The ISD just keeps firing at the things even though it has no hope of hitting it.
