What the hell is a tie Oppressor//Aggressor
I know people must have cryed before about this but come on.

Before jump to light speed the two ties never existed in the EU or Star wars, did they?

I feel that the these "Frankenstein" ties (as I like to call them) should be replaced by the Tie Defender and the Tie Avenger

Also they have way cooler names and they did exist in star wars EU

BTW the tie Avenger is the fine version of the Tie advanced which looks like a Tie Interceptor Advanced mixed together

Here are some old school links I found with a full picture of them with cog-pit views too!

Tie Defender

Anyone who has ever played the game Tie Fighter would agree with me on this one

Considering that SWG technically IS a part of the EU, they now do exist in the EU, don't they?

Besides, the Oppressor and Aggressor looks no more like a Frankensten TIE than the Defender.

I gotta agree with wanting to have a TIE defender. That was by far my favorite ship in TIE Fighter.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!

The tie aggressor is out of place as a star fighter. It is the only star fighter I know of with a turret on its a$$.That turret on the back end is good for nothing other then draining your weapons power.
The tie Oppressor is a wanna-be tie defender. It has three wings like a tie defender, it is really strong like a tie defender but the wings are shaped diffrent. You can almost call the tie Oppressor a test version of the tie defender.

And if the the tie Oppressor and the Aggressor is not part of the star wars data bank at star wars.com it is not part of the star wars EU to me...

And that data bank has everything
storm comandos are in it, I thought swg made them up So are the black hole troopers

I just looked up in the data bank random wildlife from naboo like peko peko and it showed up.

I'd love to see the Avenger & Defender too, but then I'd also like to see Assault Gunboats and Missile Boats added, plus loads of the other ships in the X-wing series.

Also though, I don't see what's wrong with the DEVs creating their own stuff, afterall isn't that what EU writers did, not to mention the DEVs for the X-Wing Series in creating the TIE Defender & Avenger in the first place?

Everything put into this game has to go through LucasArts & Skywalker ranch before it's added, so it's not like they were just put in on a whim.

I'm gonna have to agree with the Aggressor being a bit useless, but I like my Oppressor and think it looks cool!

Go dogfight one for a little while, and tell me how "good for nothing" that turret is.

If your entire view on the EU is just the Star Wars data bank, your view on the EU is rather narrow. It doesn't contain "everything". Far from it, actually.

And here is what I am talking about: The TIE defender is just as much a "frankenstein TIE" as the aggressor and the oppressor. They all look like silly versions of the regular TIEs. In fact, I think the defender looks about the worst.

As for turrets on the rear end of Starfighters. The ARC has two.

The Y-Wing and Krayt Gunship also have gunner-controlled turrets, although they have a 360 degree firing arc and aren't fixed for rear-firing only.

I've never flown a TIE Aggressor, but I've flown against them plenty of times in PvE. The rear gun is the ONLY thing that makes it the toughest of the TIEs to kill. The rest of em you can just settle in behind and blast away. The Aggressor will make you pay if you're sloppy.

Nope I do not agree with you on this and I bought the game when I first came out.....

Point blank the tie defender looked like garbage and a lot of people did not like the look of it as that ship was never in any of the movies at that time.

The oppressor looks more thought out and not cut and pasted together.

And are probably copy righted by the makers of Tie Fighter and If I remember correctly neither the Defender or Aggressor existed prior to Tie Fighter either.

This game is EU. The only non EU Imperial fighters are TIE fighters, TIE interceptors, TIE bombers, and Darth Vaders TIE advanced. Aggressors and Oppressors are not less ok than Advanced, Defenders, or any of the other non movie TIE varients. Do you even know what the EU stands for?
