I've never flown a TIE Aggressor, but I've flown against them plenty of times in PvE. The rear gun is the ONLY thing that makes it the toughest of the TIEs to kill. The rest of em you can just settle in behind and blast away. The Aggressor will make you pay if you're sloppy.
Yeah, that turret makes the TIE aggressor pretty much the hardest NPC ship. It's too bad the NPC Y-wings don't actually use their turrets...
I haven't seen any NPC Krayts or ARC's, but if they use their turret, they might just be worse than the aggressor. Especially the ARC with the two rearturrets. Yikes.

Heh, I think it looks pretty cool based on the images that were linked by the OP. But it's neither better nor worse than the Oppressor or Aggressor, and it's existance certainly isn't an argument against those two being created for SWG.
Personally, I like the Aggressor a lot. If you're a good pilot you can take one down pretty easily, but if you slip up it'll wreck your ship in a hearbeat. In that regard it's probably the best-balanced NPC on either ground or in space. It's AI is pretty decent too. It understands that it's rear gun never misses, and jukes all over the place when you're behind it trying to get a clean shot. I've learned that if I'm going to tail them and try to shoot the rear gun off, it's best to fly slower than the Aggressor and let it pull away a couple hundred meters. Helps lock on for 4-5 shots you need to take out the shield and armor and wreck the rear gun.
Oppressors can also be a handful if they sneak up on you in 2s and 3s and start ramming missiles into your rear shields, but once you get an upper hand on em (ie, behind em) they're pretty much histroy.
The only TIE that I dislike fighting is the Interceptor. In a slower ship it's almost impossible to catch up to, and the hit box seems to be a little funky as well. Having flown as an Imperial on an alternate character, I'd equate catching and killing an Interceptor to catching and killing an A-Wing. Shoot to disable, so the little b@stard will quit darting around and you can finish it off.
You forgot some of the most annoying parts of the TIE interceptor: It's worth the least XP, prestige and FP. Even the basic TIE without a shield is worth more for some reason.
