I am pissed at the aiming in JTL...it takes for every to hit a dam ship! A imperial tie fly across your screen yet you can't seen to hit him becuase he is fly by you so fast. Yet, SOE cheaped out and instead of giving use a fast-ship to combat tie in lower tiers; They give us the same dam ship twice...can we say lazy! I am sick of spending a half an hour just to shoot one ship...grinding is not fun...if it is not fun I don't want to do it...if I don't want to do it I will stop playing....If I stop playing and go to WoW SOE loses money(I will not leave this game...I just want to make it better)(screw WoW)...I feel SOE needs to rethink space, and yes they have a big enough team to do both Combat Revamp and fixing the dam expansion. I really don't want to have to go to the same length as the revamp and wait a year for them to fix the expansion. I think the rebels need a new teir two ship not just the same old y-wing.

You realize there are Alliance ace pilots who still use the Y wing Longprobe?
I ought to know, i was one for a time. Rebel ships never lose their usefulness.

I half agree and half disagree.
Giving us the Y-Wing twice isn't the way I woud have done it but the LongProbe is one of the greatest ships Rebels have and is used by ace pilots because its a flying tank. Then again Imps get the TIE fighter like 3 times so everyones kinda in the same boat.
I admit that TIE Fighters are hard to hit but I think its a hitbox bug. It seems that you need to hit them in the body because when I shoot their wings it doesn't seem to do anything.
Rebels have more heavly armored ships notice TIE Fighters have no shields yet our Z95 does and so does the Scyke. SO they get manuverability and we get armor, it evens out.
IMO I think the X-Wing should get a mass increase. Its supposted to be our Superiority Fighter but yet people can't use alot of its features. i.e. I haven't seen anyone use all 3 weapon mount or missiles with out sever down grades to defense or speed.
In the end if you don't like fighting TIEs go to Tat or something and fight Hutts. Because when it all comes together everything evens out (mostly).

all imp ships have shields, its just the normal tie fighter imp npc's that dont. What is the problem is the gun convergence on the X-wing.

ya get the same Convergance issue w/ the TIE Interceptor too, and talk about No mass, good god! i ether have to Fly a Bus or a Crotch rocket in tier 3, there is no middle ground. and Rebel ships get all the Weapon Hardpoints

if im not mistaken we imps get the Tie fighter 3 times.

Besides this isn't the ground game... there more skill involved in space. LEAD YOUR TARGETS and target the components instead of trying to take out the whole ship at once. If you take out a ship's reactor, it's nothing but a hunk of floating metal that can't fly or fight.

I personally have rebound my cycle component key to F....so its good and close to my roll fingers....easy access. You ever try to hammer a tier 5 A-wing with a Rhykzy or a Tie bomber...you'll learn to love the component targeting!
I have characters on all 3 factions, on different servers...and I think honestly the Imps got the shaft. Yeah, they get WO/EO...but anyone can get those if they have friends.What good is a ship with 15k mass when one stinkin gun at tier 3 takes up 13k? Say hello to the dilemma the Imps face on EVERY ship...just isn't enough mass.
X-wing..I use all 3 projectile points.. with lvl 7 guns too...and I don't sacrifice speed or shields to do it....its all in knowing a GOOD shipwright and REing EVERYTHING you put in there. With the right components and droid programs, you can make it work.
My Rhykzy is my favorite though...Lead Sled II....and man I can pack a punch with that puppy....tier 5 b wings in 3 bursts......All that AND space bombs (I's only)!
I think that there are SERIOUS balance issues involved with the whole "mass limits" system....honestly, Beta rocked because of the lack of these issues. I could load up an Interceptor with lvl 9/10 items and really take it to the man!! Now its VERY hard to put in the kind of firepower a true "interceptor" needs.
Don't lose hope folks....JTL hasn't saved the game yet...but I think its on the right path!

Any ship with a secondary turret, such as a gunboat or fighter with a turret, can fire it with the reactor disabled. If someone could clarify whether or not player ships have this strange and quite impossible ability that would be most helpful.

The only thing I can agree with you on with a straight face is that it would be nice to have a different tier 2 ship. But I do like my Longprobe as well. Hmmm decisions.

Actually, I test JTLS beta and do test on testcenter...I unlike you, don't just test when there are blue frogs...I am look for bugs and send feedback on items. I was one of the first people to get the YT-1300 plasma leak bug...so can't you ever be thankful...I was angry when I posted this...giving my two cents(an opinion). I will continue to test until this game end...so get over yourself!!!

Well one thing si the Y/longprobe is useful at all levels as a bomber.
I agree the X needs a mass increase.
The rebs dont really have a competative heavy fighter since the X's mass is lower than everyone elses heavy fighters
Light fighters are in balance. The tie adv and a-wing have the same YPR and mass. The Neutral Kihraz does have a better YPR but it does have a lower mass to compensate. But the heavy fighter area needs balanced and a little more mass on the X would do that.
Although I am not that familiar with the stats of the TIR Bomber the bomber arena seems balanced.
