If the x-wing has the 4 wingtip guns, that amount to 2 different weapons, as 2 seperate "hardpoints"....
WHY DOESN"T THE INTERCEPTOR??? I realize that its supposed to be "lighter"....but its still firing 4 guns. It should have a second projectile hardpoint, and an increase in mass to help absorb some of the damage an extra gun is going to do to the mass limits.
So what if the A-wing is the "interceptor" for the rebels and it only has 1 hardpoint.....its only 1 set of beams....a Tie Interceptor has 2 sets of beams, hence it should be 2 hardpoints.
End of complaint.

i agree with 2 hardpoints, but disagree with more mass. with two hardpoints you can load a pair of lower level guns and do more damage with less mass than a single larger gun.

I'm not asking for 75k, just 8-10k extra so we can cover our butts and still load in a lower level gun to match our "big" one. Right now, I'm fighting to get some defenses good enough that I don't have to worry that it takes me 3 times as long to take out an enemy than my rebel counterparts......I dread the next few missions without the extra firepower I was hoping to get out of buying my interceptor.
I think I'll grind out another wad of credits and buy a bomber too..so I can load on more weapons. (They get more guns right?)
I just want "fair" to be just that.
I've got a rebel, a privateer, and an Imperial.....and I feel the worst about my imperials lack of weapons. The other factions get multiple hardpoints.. Imperials should too....especially on ships that LOOK like they should!

A second projectile hardpoint on the Interceptor would be pointless in and of the fact that you could only affix two L5 weapons at the most, and I've found L7s are the weapon of choice for the Int/Adv. You CAN get an L8 onto an Advanced, but it takes some godly REing (and the luck involved in that) and adjustments to ALL components across the board.
I've actually adjusted my Advanced down to about 53000/65000. You might think "big deal" until you'd realize the ship is fully equipped. I only need one gun, though - I've noticed the more guns people have, the worse shots they typically are.
When you're finding you can outdamage people using 2-3 projectile weapons with a single REed L7 based off the Boltdriver, you begin to realize a lot of people need to work on their aim.

That being said, I would very much like a MERE 5k mass increase on both the Interceptor, Advanced, and A-Wing. With that small increase in room, I could move back into an Interceptor.
I think 5k extra to the 50/65k mass class ships wouldn't unbalance things terribly.

Well a tie intercepter wasn't sopposed to have shield capbilities either. Its a fighter assualt craft ment to strike its target in groups and get out of the area before its forced into a dog fight. take the shields away from int and add the second gun and that would be the tie intercepter.

Actually the Interceptor was designed to be the supreme dogfighting ship. And in the EU many Tie Interceptors were equipped with shield Generators. as this is EU in Galaxies the Interceptor fits just fine with shields th eissue is the ship is supposed to have 2 guns yet has 1

I'm fine with the interceptor as it is, but if you look at the actual fliming model used for the TIE interceptor it has 10, yes 10 guns! There is the 4 obvious ones on the solar panels, but if you look closely there is 2 more in the gap between the uper and lower panel on each side, plus the 2 chin mounted ones

Well I would agree with the two hardpoint idea, but not with the mass increase. Put two lighter weapons into the two hardpoints or leave one empty and use the same weapon you hav now.

10 weapons huh. Kinda puts the intercepters role into question when trying to decide its role in combat. Back when the first SW movies were made the intercepter was probably considered that supreme dogfighting ship and was protrayed as such. But after all those Lucas arts Tie vs X wing game and countless other SW game all sorts of new ties have popped up. the advanced, and defender were among the first new tie designs seen in a SW game. Now there are ties with treads listed in those SW technology books. I always saw the intercepter as the group assualt tie when placed next to all these other tie ships. But I was a hardcore player of Tie FIghter.

Better be careful with that argument... if you want to get picky, I'm sure someone will be happy to point out that the interceptor doesn't exist yet in the timeframe this game is set.
