do they award more per tier of ship or is it just the same like on the groud (15-20 points per kill no matter what) ?

Lower level tiers give less xp.
Tier 5's in Kessel give around 43 for X-Wing/A-Wing. ~50 for B-Wings.
Gunships give 192.

Huh??? I don't get any faction except when I complete a mission. Do you have to be overt or something? And I don't get any in Kessel either.

I received some at the beginning of my piloting career, but after 2 or 3 missions, it stopped coming in.

If you want the Factional XP in space, you have to go to a Rebel/Imperial Space Station. Talk to them and declare. Then you get Factional XP when you kill X-Wings/A-Wings/etc & TIEs/etc.
Make note - you are overt, and it's the same principal as on the ground - you can get attacked by another overt player.
You stay overt until you die or land. You may hyperspace though, and remain overt.

Ahh Ok thanks for the info - you would think it would be automatic in Kessel.

yeah...well...guess its not... i dont mind dieing in space because all i need to do is repair and go at it again...on the groud..its a diff story since i need 30 minutes just to buff

I was wondering where do i need to go in space as an imp to become covert and kill other npc's for fp... and does anyone else have good ideas on how to gain fp up in space...

If you are a rebel you can turn "Overt" at any rebel space station... vis versa wioth imperials... neutrals can choose wich side they wanna fight for at neutral stations...
But be cautious. As soon as you are overt, you are cannon fodder for other overts of the opposing faction! (Players) and PvP is "One shot and you are dead" so... no margin for ANY error

And the fast ways to get fp in space are by doing duty missions involving faction ships, or by going to Kessel/Deep Space.

You must be a ground Imperial to do this. Just converse with any imperial station and they will ask you if you want to go overt. After that, any rebel ships you destroy will give you FP.

So for FP in space all you have to do is be overt and kill an opposing faction npc? Do you have to be in kessel/Deep Space or can you do it in any space area?
