Thread: Just An Idea

This is just a thought I had recently. It’s nothing big, and I know it’s been kicked around before, but here goes.
Under the current system, Bounty Hunters should in all reality be called "assassins". In RL (and the SWU) Bounty Hunters always attempt to take a target
alive if possible, and deadly force is only used as a last resort. Why not implement something similar to this. Why not make it possible to turn a target in alive?
When I’ve read about this topic before, someone inevitably says "DEVs don’t want to make it so one player can forcibly make another player do something/go
somewhere". If you think about it though, the current system is doing just that. It’s forcing Jedi to the cloner, thus adding fuel to the BH/Jedi hatred. If you
could take a target alive, everyone wins. A bonus for the BH, and no xp loss for the Jedi. To keep players from extorting this system, the Jedi have to pay the
same as the posted Bounty, or refuse and have to fight there way out, or have friends come and rescue them. Now, I’m no Jedi, so I can’t speak on their behalf,
but I’m pretty sure they would be much happier with this system for several reasons. 1) No xp loss (which face it, unless you grief someone, xp loss really isn’t a
threat with spin groups). 2) It would add content to both of our professions.
I see this as a win/win situation. As I said though, I cannot speak on behalf of Jedi, and am not interested in being napalmed for posting something on their boards.I would however like to know what other BH's think. I know this has been brought up in the past, but maybe if we could add to it and tweak it, we could make it a viable plan.
