Saw in the interview about having a "twitchy" flight system. What does that mean? Will we be able to use flight controllers? (Would kill to use my Sidewinder for space flight).
Hehe, so many people are acting like this "twitchy" thing is news.
We've known since long before SWG ever entered Beta 1 that space was going to be twitchy; as to the controller subject the last we heard a year or so ago was that it was expected to be included as an option (though if it made it in is to be announced, I would assume they did).
There was some nice info in there, mostly about the amount of player ships...some upsetting info, like the ship/datapad relationship (some of us thought ships were big enough to actually "exist", not hide in our pocket)...but the "twitchy" thing that everyone seems to be talking about is old, old news.

The screenshots were not at all interesting either. They are perfected shots, that or cinematic. Neither of which I like. I prefer raw screenshots of how it will look while im ingame playing.
Devs........I THINK I LOVE YOU!!!!!
Great work, just awesome!!!!!
Ok, those screenies had X-wing, Y-wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, TIE Advanced prototype, Z-95 Headhunter, and YT1300. One of the Devs also mentioned an A-wing before. That's 8. We can probably guess that TIE Bomber is in as well. 9. The other 4 are probaby those "mercenary" craft mentinoed. Maybe 2 of them are N-1 Naboo fighter and Firespray Attack Ship (Slave 1).
Can't wait ...
Another thing,
As odd as this might sound, I think that they really need to nail down some great sounds in this expansion.
The sound could make all the difference for immersion in space. Hearing a ship creak and shudder, hearing the vibrations when you take a hit or fire a weapon could make a lot of difference.
The planets are too quiet for my taste and there needs to be more music throughout the game, but especially in space.
Just a thought,

Umm..how do you know this?
And seriously...who care's what its called as long as it delivers?
You think your going to be flying through space without the radar and chatbox and overhead etc etc? I don't think so.

very nice first glimps of the space expansion!
Only thing I dont like, as some have pointed out, is the taking out the spacecraft from your datapad. I really hope it doesnt pop out of my buttlike a speeder or pet does.. its most unrealistic!
I agree with you, but as it stands, this what we pull from our butts anyways:
-Pets
- Speeders
- Droids
- Camps
BUT.. heres the conundrum -
If we pull out our spacecraft at the starport, how are they gonna keep people from stacking ships on top of another? You honestly dont think that these players have the patience to wait do you? Thats laughable at the least..

In the playshots of the day they don't have all that junk either doesn't mean they aren't in game screenshots there
These are in game shots too im sure.

when i am flying through space i would actually prefer not to have the chatbox or anything showing. radar should depend on the ship, i dont recall, did all the fighters have them in the movies?
It's so much like a burning building and everyone is cheering on the flames. I never said I didn't like twitch games or action games. I like those sort of games actually better than RPG, but I bought Galaxies seeing Online RPG on the box knowing what I was suppose to be getting. I can't think of exactly how the expansion would work best, but I'm pretty sure this won't be it.
All I'm saying is the developers need to keep in mind EVERYONE. Not just the people who bought this thinking they can persuade Sony to make it action. Not even just the RPGers even. I know there could be a happy mix just as I know many other ideas that's been given to the developer team by players would be nice to see. We'll see once the game crosses it's 1 year mark. So many have left for various reasons and so many more will continue. Eventually Sony will decide to get serious and start amping it up.
I guess one thing though, this will seperate the PvPers and stick them in a whole different area of the game so they can shoot at each other all day long and oddly never get bored of the same content over and over. Plus nobody seems to feel that the interview was a "giving up the ghost" of sorts speech. Like they are fully abandoning the original idea of the game instead of taking into account all of those many posts by many fans.
Oh and as far as Twitch-play goes, versus your skills in the new skill trees, I'm assuming it'll work out something like this:
Sayyou have 2 playersflying around in X-Wings, with the exact same stats. The first pilot makes a left turn, and hasfour boxes in Piloting... his turn is very sharp, a better pilot knows better how to operate his ship to the fullest extent. The second pilot, only one box in piloting, can't match the tightness of the first pilot's turn, because he doesn't know how to operate the ship too well.
The flying will be twitch, but I'm sure you'll have performance benefits the higher you climb in piloting skill.
