Thread: xp cap
However, you can't respec if you've started your character after CU. Which is what my wife has found out. She's been looking forward to working up her creature handler, only to be stopped at 20000xp. Thankfully, I saw online that it was an issue and she didn't waste any time trying to train it. I hope they fix it soon, she's really looking forward to taming lots of creatures. ![]()
We started playing SWG, the day before CU. So far, we actually like it and I'm really enjoying myself. I hope they fix some of the really annoying bugs, like not being able to gain xp!. ![]()

Yeah, as I said in the thread "Issues in Creature Handler after CU" this is just unbelievable that it is still a bug, after 2 weeks of CU being out.
I realize they have other issues going on that might be higher priority (oh lets see, login servers failing, servers crashing.. so on.) But this was my only happiness to get to do CH while I grind BH & some pistoleer. But I can't get past that stupid 20k xp cap.
Even for SOE this is a bit incredible. But then again I didn't think they'd be so bluntly blind and release CU with so many bugs. It's asking me to pay them to test their crap and be frustrated for why I can't get any satisfaction with the broken system. I can enjoy pistoleer some, it's true that not all the game is broke. But jez, servers go down daily, sometimes it's so unstable it's not worth playing. But the increase in XP requirements for levels is just a bit much. It's pushing my tolerance for playing a laggy and buggy system. It gets so laggy my bacta shot (heal) button along with other specials will stop regenerating for seconds at a time. Which means oh, where the freakin heck is my heal!! Oh looky, I'm incapped again.
1. The devs are lazy or ignorant and have just refused to go in and make a typographical change where the edit one line of code to read 175,000 instead of 20,000.
2. The devs are stupid and the wrote an engine that was so messed up that changing the XP cap requires more than one line of code, and tons of work.
I'd prefer 1 to 2 because at least once they get off their duffs the fix is easy. I shudder to think what sort of coders would have made the "XP cap table" so complex that it'd be more than a 5 minute fix.

If you have ever read half of my post's you'l know I am not a happy camper nor a dev worshiper lol
That said
The way I understand it, we as ch have one dev who fixes the bugs, he also works on other things, lairs, spawns ... basically anything to do with creatures.
He posted here long ago and is one of the better devs. I have a feeling the guys in up to his neck and can't keep up it all, hence the big delay in fixing ch issues, not to mention his bosses telling him to fix stuff in the expansion. As history has shown untill the expansion is running at something like 80% (kind ofa joke)they willignore the base game.
Otherwise I cap every 120-180 mins.
Or every 6 hours if grouped with idiots who get themselves into so much trouble that I spend 90% of my time healing them.
I wish they would put a shuttle in the village, 15 min driving back and forth on Dath is boring me to death.
