Ok I am sure this has been said many times, yet I wish to ask since I could not find exactly what I was wondering.
I was and have ALWAYS been curious why novice brawler and all unarmed did not have a weak weapon like all the other brawler trees? I mean they can make us some brass knuckles or something my opinion. As opposed to having to use something we are not certified for all the way to novice tka!! I just think it would have made it a little more realistic. Now I have never really visited this particular board till today, so please fill me in on any views on this issue. Or if it has been denied in the past from the dev's or what not. Thanks again fellow TKA's!

they have a post about this in the brawler forum.. i agree, i think they should get some kind of "brass knuckles" weapon that helps out a little.. a speed sliced vk will help you get through the brawler unarmed skill fast, but still not as fast as 2h weap or something. Far as i know the devs haven't said anything about it.. but im sure they have and the answer was probably no, since they aren't in the game.

They do. It's called your fists. And they're free, too! It's a bug that unarmed brawlers are actually more effective with uncertified VKs, but a bug that noone has been asking devs to fix.

Yeah, we should be happy that we even get the VK. We are masters of being unarmed and all of our xp is unarmed xp. We are the only profession in the game that doesn't need to buy/equip a weapon to be a combat force. Out fists have no decay rate or cost us any money, the VK is more like a powerup for our fist. It is not needed for us to be effective.

LMAO< I agree on some points, yet I do not agree that if we go with your statement that a fencer with a weak beginning weapon gets more XP. Since we use our fists as fists then the xp should be boosted a tad in line with another novice brawler profession. I mean I know once we get to TKA novice we can earn fast and mad xp, yet so can the other elite brawler professions, only difference is we TKA are a tad faster. So if we are going to do damage with our fists then we should do more than a measley 50-100 at the beginning novice brawler trees.

Actually you should get some sort of weapon or as earlier mentioned "powerup" for your fists, every other combat prof gets 1 of their best waepons early on.
Fencer : gaffi at 1hand 1 i think
Swordsman : curved sword at 2hand2
Pikemen : exception, get the basic lance at polearms3 though
Pistoleer : scout blaster at pistoles 2 or 3
Rifleman : laser rifle at Rifles 2
Carbineer : laser carbine at carbines 3.
Ive been a pistoleer, swordsman, TKM, carbineer, fencer and i used the 2 hand curved at master swords, gaffi at master fencer, laser carbine as a BH carbs 4, and scout as a master pistoleer. Now the VK is a cool weapon, but having something certed at brawler that would help people level faster would be great, since i could do both fencer and 2hand 3 times in the time it took me to do unarmed 1 - 4

You made a great point, and that is that a VK is more of a powerup to our fists than an actual weapon. The damage of a VK is merely added to what we would do anyways (well, close enough, fists do have a small range of damage beyond the unarmed damage bonus). That's why an "unarmed" profession still can use a VK. Is a boxer "armed" with a boxing glove?
Anyways, the grind does suck. When I went through the unarmed brawler tree, the VK was certified at novice brawler. The grind went easier than any other brawler grind. They didn't make VKs certified at novice TKA until long after I became a TKA novice. I was lucky.

there were a few decent ones last night on the bazaar....I got lucky and my respec llc got hit hard but not as hard as others...it still does max of 542 dmg.

Ugh... having a hard time determining what weapon I can place on my Tie at Tech Lev I.... Every vendor I hit the stats wont load, so I can't tell what I am certified in. Can someone help?
Where the heck did I place my manual.... I trip over that thing all the time.... and now I need it and it's gone!

At 0100 you can use Mid-grade/Mark II/Level 3 components, so you're looking for a "Mid-Grade Blaster" of some description.

I've never heard anyone say anything about really repairing armor or weapons. Does it actually work? Who and how can repair armor and weapons? They're so expensive to just throw them out when they reach zero!

Ok people I am an old player who has just come back as of last week. I was recently in a hunting group and someone asked me the stats on my scatter... well he said it wasn't good being a DPS worth about 300 moded. So my question is where can I get a good Scatter pistol or any other pistol for that matter and a LLC? I am on Bloodfin server.
