Oh, really?
Thanks I didn't know that.. my impression from the tech-tree under Marksman was that I just had to up through Carbines or Pistols (i thought i was pretty slick by covering both, haha).. so I'll need to master the rifles and others as well.
Thanks for that note, it's an important one!

Another thing to make your life alot easier is do not train Invest 1 until you max out your investigation XP I believe it's like 10k.Your marks at Novice BH will give you around 130-150 ish (did for me) and it's gonna get annoying after awhile but you'll be glad you did. AT novice BH the marks stay in one spot on the same planet and the Spynet gives u their location rather then haveing to Get the mission, Talk to informant, call arakyd droid, travel to other planet and using seekers to chase your mark halfway across the planet. Not to mention from Invest 1 to Invest 2 your droids will fail by blowing up, losing power, get eaten by space creatures, or whatever other crazy thing they decide to do to add to your frustration.
I grinded out to Pistols IV before doing Bounty missions and grinded out 6k to train to Invest II. Was about 25-28 missions to get to 3.

Thanks to Ialwysdie as well.. you guys have given me a good idea of the direction I should be going in, and no doubt saved a lot of time with going the 'wrong' way first

That calculator is awesome.
Hmm.. I seriously can't think of any other game I've been around where a noob can ask a question, get several responses, and not ONE of them containing something like 'get f@#%^ noob' or something along the lines of trousers down and a good old fashioned towel snap.
Thanks to you guys for your help.. a few squill hunting missions and tips for my tech tree climbing have got me well and truly on the way
5 stars for all LOL

I have gotten this too sometimes. I'll loot several identical items and one has yellow lettering but with no mods. Not sure what it means, I'm sure that there may be some plan for it in the future. As for now, I just use them as regular items. You may want to try and ask a CSR about them. Maybe they might have some more info.

ummm if i remember right then when you loot something that are a better that basic (there is some line that splits "just a bit better" and " better that just better") it will come yellow named. and if it is possible for multiple drop then (if you pass system roll check) you will recive extra items of same kind but only original item will have yellow name.
so i belive that yellow named item are 100% same that its replicas, after all if it was different then system would not give it and its replicas same unique serrial.
now iam not 100% sure but i think that system name/colours works this way:
§1 White name basic stats (same as 0% experimented)
§2 White name better that basic stats
§3 yellow name (now here is a crux, i have no idea what system thinks and how it value §2 compared to §3) and probably better stats
§4 exeptional tag.
§5 legendary tag.
again to be 100% sure we need to catch a talkfriendly dev

Sniper shot only works on an incaped player, no where else. And currently Cover is usless so no need to use it.

well, cover was supposed to give you extra ranged defense or something, i believe, never noticed a difference though :/
