I am waiting for the old man now, and thinking about what to do next and i have a few questions for you veterans

1 Clarification on the master medic requirement for some missions at the village. Is the medic stuff on one phase only? I see scout stuff in the same place, is it possible to use master scout instead?

2 Which are the most usefull force skills to have for later on?

3 how much are pearls these days?

There is one mission so far that requires you to be a master medic to start.

All depends on what you consider useful. For a jedi I consider Melee def/accuracy/speed ranged def to be useful.

Too much for what they are. There are too many idiots out there with too much money paying millions for something that when tuned can be absolutely worthless.

Can some1 answer this:

- Is the JTL interface like the game Freelancer and if so, is it controlled in the same way? (mouse/keyboard) That would totally rock cuz I rule in Freelancer

- Can I still register for the beta now? (I know it's on now but still)

The keyboard/mouse option feels very much like Freelancer. But, unlike Freelancer you are free to use a joystick if you wish!

Yes you can still register. Go to the main SWG page and click the sign up for beta button under the JTL link to the left of Boba Fett.

I've searched the forums to try to get answers, and here's what I got so far.

There are no capitol ships.
There are no space stations.
You cannot live in space (i.e. assigned to a ship.)

Fighters can dock with Freighters?

Squadrons? Are they supported or is it just grouping? Can you only form a squadron beneath a guild or can they be totally seperate?

None of the pre-existing professions will have any sort of advantage in space combat?

Do we have to worry about our characters being fatigued or combat damage? or do we only have to worry about the fighter?

There are no capitol ships. - [edit] Yes no player capitol ships, but there will be npc capitol ships
There are no space stations. - not true, a space station is where you go to repair your ship unless i was told wrong
You cannot live in space (i.e. assigned to a ship.) - I would believe so, you will eventually need to land to restock on missles or get a new part reverse engineered

Fighters can dock with Freighters? - Havent heard of that one

Squadrons? Are they supported or is it just grouping? Can you only form a squadron beneath a guild or can they be totally seperate? - I would believe just grouping, too bad tho, it would be cool to have a npc squadron

None of the pre-existing professions will have any sort of advantage in space combat? - True all your professions wont beifit you in any way. Maybe smugglers, but not at launch

Do we have to worry about our characters being fatigued or combat damage? or do we only have to worry about the fighter? - I would guess the fighter is all you have to worry about, I dont theink character wounds/bf should hinder you in flying

edit: Oh, I read that you have to be playing 6 months continiously to get the veteran ship reward. I don't suppose there's anything for the original special edition folks is there? Maybe some new flight goggles?

To the first question, yes 6 full months of gameplay will get you the vet ship, if you havent been playing for 6 months when JtL hits, you will get it once you reach that 6 month period And nothing special for the SE peeps, except if you preorder JtL you will get in beta stress testing(starts Oct 8th) and a flash speeder.

I think you may get wounds and bf in space becouse I remeber it being a bing thing when they first mentioned group shipps that the others can heal you while you fly.

This is probably a horribly newbish post, but here goes

I just picked up bounty hunter, i have 1 skill in the pistoleer tree and one pistol skill in the bounty-hunter tree. I'm not sure how bounty hunter missions are calculated, but the lowest mission (dif 15)i can find with my pistol armed is a 10000hp mobs that are very very deep red to me - that i have NO chance of beating, i have a decent scatter-pistol (150-180 roughly i think)

if i raise my pistol skill im just gonna get harder missions that i cant do either right?

although i dont have a full suit of armour, i have all the composite i can wear with my encumberance (a nice 80% bp, biceps, and bracers and 40% boots) i have my stats migrating to str/con so i can wear more but that is taking awhile.

I can arm my carbine and take missions, and get targets that are high yellow (6-7k ham) and i can take those with relative ease

I'm just wondering, do i HAVE to have a full suit of the best composite, a PSG and buffs just to take down a BH mission? or am i just seriously missing something

cause when i arm my carbine to take a mission it feels like im a gimp and im cheating

My total spec is Master marksman, pistoleer 0100, and BH 0010

any help would be great, thanks

With regards to getting higher paid missions, that will happen through 2 things, 1 you can do now and 1 that will come in time.

1) buy and equip a good Light Lightning Cannon

2) your progression up the Investigation Tree

I'm fairly new to the BH game (im only 6 weeks into the SWG game to!) and i find the targets are fairly easy to kill, but its not always about a straight shoot out, you must employ tactics, make them bleed using your pistol (and blind if you can) before switching to your LLC, buy a combat droid and order it to attack your mark first, that way he'll attack it leaving you free to shoot him from your weapons optimum dstance.

Good luck mate

Brodie

I am considering entering into the BE trade, its something that has interested me for a while. I do however have some questions that I was hoping someone might help me with. Some may be consdiered off topic, but i would appreciate any help possible so that i can make an informed decision.

Firstly let me state that i have two accounts. My main account is a Master doc and almost Master TK. My other account is a multitude of low level skills.

Here are the questions:

1. Is there any point in having a Master CH and a Master BE on the same character ?

2. Can a BE pet be trained to a higher level or is it a case of what you buy is what you buy?

3. What is another good complimentary proffession to BE ?

4. Ultimately what are the stronger Pets - BE or trained ones? - please go into a little detail for here as my understanding is that Trained pets are generaly stronger, but BE pets are tailored to your style of fighting and providing they are used correctly they are better.

5. (off topic) Do you think that a Master TK with Master CH using BE pets would be a strong character?

I hope these dont seem to silly a set of questions.

I look forward to you responses.

Many Thanks

Yes. Many people see it as an ideal way to protect yourself in the wild without having to spend loads of valuable SP on a combat profession as essentially, you don't need to spend 29 SP on getting a novice prof and 4xxx in it. This means that you have extra SP to get merchant skills to put up a vendor and some surveying skills for collecting organic resources. Also means that you can tame your own pets and sell them, useful for CL10 pets because then you can tame them, train them, mount them and sell em on. Downside is that if you don't have a pet called when you get aggroed then you're pretty much screwed.

2. Can a BE pet be trained to a higher level or is it a case of what you buy is what you buy?

Pet deeds state the maximum stats that it will grow to when tamed.

3. What is another good complimentary proffession to BE ?

Any combat profession is good but it means that if you want to master both then you wont have any SP left over for vendors. Pistoleer is a good dabbling profession. Some people like to have the doc crafting tree in their BE template as Pet Stims require Doc made components but seeing as your alt is a doctor that wont be needed.

4. Ultimately what are the stronger Pets - BE or trained ones? - please go into a little detail for here as my understanding is that Trained pets are generaly stronger, but BE pets are tailored to your style of fighting and providing they are used correctly they are better.

BE pets have been known to be 10, 20 even 30 times stronger than their wild counterparts but this tends to be when discussing CL10 pets. It is possible to make a cl10 pet with 60% kinetic, 45% blast and have 120-130 damage. BE pets tend to be stronger as they are tailored to the CH's needs. For instance a CH could use a cl20 pet with light armour and 60% kinetic intim/stun as a tank and have a CL40strong poison / crippling with 500 dmg as its counterpart. Where are you going to find something like in the wild? The downside is that BE pets can't have uber specials such as Plague Strike, Force Strike, Area Combo etc because even if we try - they get removed by the system.

5. (off topic) Do you think that a Master TK with Master CH using BE pets would be a strong character?

IMO its best to team a ranged profession up with CH because it means you can stand 20,30 ... 65m away from the beast and let the animal do all the tanking. You can do much more damage with TKA then you can do pets so if I were you I would keep TKM/Mdoc as its a well known and its very sturdy.
