I'm very happy about it.

Hopefully many more multi-person ships will be added.

is it just me or has this forum flooded with stupidity after news of the new carbines?

I mean until now i thought the carbineer forum was truly on a different level but i guess that era is over. Unless those new carbines all suck which wouldnt be surprising. Either way can we see and end to the FOTM threads about carbineer.

And also can we see and end to the ridiculously stories some people post up here about duels and PVP events where they totally owned a field full of fencers and riflemen. Just shut up we know you didnt. Yes there are several occassion when a highly educated carbineer with stacked out armor and weapons is victorious over some poorly equipped lost soul who unexpectedly went on a downer just as your scattershot chose the mind pool, but for the most part the stories are ridiculously impossible and just not entertaining like you think they are.

1000000000000% correct on the PvP part.......

And yes this forum has changed, for the worse, hence the reason the "regulars" aren't here much.....

I still poke my head in from time to time, but I agree, the recent influx has been a little less than pleasing to me. There was a time where I read EVERY post to EVERY thread on here, and allways made sure the entire unread column on the front page was full of zeros. Now I just find myself sifting through silly topic titles and hand picking a few to read.

I don't want to talk about BH/Carbineer on these forums. I'll go to the BH forum for that, as it was a change to BH that brought all that on, not a change to Carbineer. This board is for Carbineer topics, and anything related to "What BH specials should I get?" or "What 1 tree should I get to go with MBH?" do not belong here in my opinion.

I also do not want to talk about all these "new" carbines. As of now, all that talk is speculation, and in my opinion belongs either in the In Concept forum or the In Testing forum (if they are on TC). It will be some time until they come out, if they even do, and there are many things that can change from now to then.

As long as a Rifleman has better defenses and can attack mind, WE will never be FOTM.We won't even be Ranged FOTM, let alone FOTM of all the professions. As far as melee FOTMs, I'm not even going to go there lol.

give people a break if they want to try a differant combat class. Maybe with people going to the carbine side of the combat arena it will get fixed faster. hmm maybe not. oh been a carbineer since day 1 btw.

Nobody needs given a "break" from what we said based on them trying other combat classes......you miss the whole point.....

The Moderator will only look at what is reported....

And good sensible CARBINEER questions are always welcomed by ANY poster here.....we are just venting a bit from all the other "junk" and some stuff we get over and over again.

Or are the people who have Jedi generally the least deserving of the title?

Okay I dont mean ALL of you naturally, some of you are great roleplayers, all around good guys, etc.

But I find a very disproportinate number are.... well... less than shining points of the profession.

The examples are obvious. Go to the Geo Caves and in every spawn room with actual Lootable NPCs, you will find 3-4 Jedi, who just sit there looting whatever they can with their ability to deal more raw damage then anyone else.

Go to Fort Tusken, and admittedly while kill-stealing is rampant there, an increasing number of the kill-thieves are Jedi, and they do it so very well because they simply do more damage.

Today I was hunting The Blueleaf Temple. One of my favorite places in the game. Two people came by, saw I was hunting, and left to find other game. Very nice players. Another game in, started killing Klikniks, but made sure to target Klikniks which I was not targetting myself. He was cool about it so I grouped with him and we tried a challenge outside [Argo EVERYTHING on the perimeter then see if we could take them all out. I was incapped for 20 seconds, then he, unbuffed was incapped with all but 3 dead. Fortunately he lasted 25 seconds so I was conscious before he went out.

Then I started hunting again, minding my own buisness, when a Jedi runs in. Immediately kills everything in the temple. Fine, its there for everyone, so I go outside and agro a half dozen to fight on my own, when he runs up and takes down all six of them that were agroed on me. Then mops up the perimeter. In and out in less than 5 minutes, not a word said, stealing kills obviously mine when I obviously needed no help. Considering the place is on a one-hour respawn timer I was not pleased.

Now this isnt a problem limited to Jedi at all. Jedi is a tool to do it, and a lot of Teras Kasi do the exact same thing [these are the two professions where I notice it the most]. The problem is its a powerful tool, for undeserving players to grief [yes grief] other players because they have no sense of fair play, decency, or just general politeness.

So my question to the Jedi of these forums, most of you being good respectable people, is what would YOU to do hinder this? An outright Jedi Nerf obviously isnt an answer because some do deserve Jedi, so Im just asking what would you do to prevent the... less polite members of your profession from causing a huge headache to everyone else in the game? Noting that a lot of the complaints against the PROFESSION are a result of these PEOPLE who dont deserve the title, but have it anyway.

This place has gotten a little hostile in the last couple weeks that I've been balls to the wall in the JTL Beta. What's up? Hyped because the 'box was supposedly following the Live launch of JTL? Did we suddenly come under threat of FOTMism?

Relax, guys, TA isn't trying to piss anyone off by aiming at the FAQ, just trying to keep the boards from becoming an echo chamber for horses long dead and buried. Its a problem that was long avoided here and hopefully doesn't take hold.

We've been down the road of looking for .tre files in the downloads, a lot of this stuff is roadmaps for things that may be months out, but in the preplanning stages, OR could just be legacy crap left over from the original SWG Beta. If you look hard enough, you'll probably see .tre references to the Industrialist, Miner, Farmer, and Acrobat professions too. These were concept ideas that never saw the light of Live, and many of these carbines you're seeingmight be similar garbage.

Breathe, guys, we don't need to be riding each other's asses. Not if we're going to get through the 'box in better shape than we walked in.

It is not just you....

The few loud whiners looking for CHEESE don't bother me....we don't have any cheese for them so they will quickly leave. Or a Moderator will assist them in leaving. I have no intentions of backing down in anything that I say or in anything said about me or other rubish posted here or even in the Corr Forum. Some people view that I am a bad Corr for it, but trust me, Carbineer needs somebody that doesn't take crap from anybody, even the Devs. Also, I have no false hopes of pleasing every person in SWG, that is not my job as Carbineer Correspondent....but rest assured the opinions of the Carbineer Community will be shoved down the appropriate throats for proper digesting

Any poster can report another post to the Moderator....even mine if anybody feels the need as I am not above the rules either.

I think it also has to do with a larger Carbineer player base. As the Combat Balance is nearing, more people are picking up the profession.. hoping it'll shine.

It's like all FOTM forums, full of youngsters looking for instant solutions and I-win buttons. Most don't bother reading the FAQ and simply post the same questions over and over again.. it can geta bit tedious, yeah.

Our days of 'elitism' are nearing their end. More and more BHs are picking it up (as the Jedi problem is ever-increasing), and certain fixes have rendered professions like Rifleman less potent.
