Dude... you have your grind finished... I can tell you right now that you had it easy... compared to how it is now, ikt was YOU who had it handed to you.
I did most of my grind in the new system, and I am near completing my template. In the old system, the one you did your grind in, I was able to get 200k xp in a buff session... but now, I get just over 25k in 2 hours. The way I have it calculated, it will now take me another three months to get my last nine boxes... 3 MONTHS!!!! I have seen some folks go from padawan to knight in the old system in less than 3 months, but I am a CL 80, and if it it this hard where I am, it's GOT to be harder for the lower levels... so either step off your high horse and be constructive or ride that high horse off to where the sun don't shine, my friend!Message Edited by Dlek_Krego on 05-12-2005 05:44 PM
I dunno how you are grinding but a friend of mine went from zero to master defender and 0004 LS in 6 days after the CU. no word of a lie.
But sadly, I can't play 8-12 hours everyday. Nor do i group. I have spent the entire time I've been unlocked grinding as i am supposed to do, SOLO...
But even still, the way the system is now, if you grind with a group, you are penalized with BH's killing you, and losing xp, and if you grind solo, you are penalized with very little xp gained. What I am sick of are these knights who did their grind, made it thru in the old system, where going from padawan to Knight was only a couple of months tops telling new padawans to "suck it up, it's supposed to be hard!" crap... I dare any of them to drop their skills and try to grind now from a fresh padawan.
I mean seriously, in the past couple of months, I have seen post after post of completed template Jedi trying to thro the lower levels off to the wolves... Before the CU, we had those saying "Take Knights and above off the BH terms, let the Padawans be hunted, we should be above that now!" or "I got my Jedi before pre-9, so all post 10 Jedi should be delted so I can feel rare and special again!" That's horsecrap... we are still ONE PROFESSION! Just because you finish your template, and achieve your goal does NOT give them the right to forsake others from getting the same, just because they did it under a different system...
When the FRS was active, why didn't anyone remind those same knights that gaining ranks thru the FRS was supposed to be hard, just suck it up!?... OH WAIT...MANY OF US DID, but they chose to fight-club anyway!
All these Jedi riding around on their high horses are NO BETTER THAN ANY OTHER PLAYER IN THIS DAMNED VIDEO GAME, SO FRIGGIN GET OVER YOURSELVES ALREADY!

he also did it in groups and did not show up on the terms at all until he dueled me. visibility is borked right now but I would not recomend this for the weak stomach. he got hit 3 times the next day and lost1 mil xp after all that. another friend who only had MLS grinded side by side with me and never showed up on the terms until he was full templated. some people are lucky I guess. this was all post CU.

jedi grind used to be hard... now its very very very hard, especially for new jedi, if your a finished temp you should be quiet because you dont know how the CU hurt the grinding padawans.

yeah I think you guys are missing the point. Then again maybe I am...
the goal of CU was to create a new fun and engaging experience. It was also an effort to create a balanced system. In short some paddies (including myself) are having a tough time. This is not to say being jedi shouldn't be difficult. Then again I've not heard anyone ask to be knighted right away.
What I do hear is people struggling with the process for enjoying the game. Low level padawans have reached a point of diminishing returns...
That being said the current state of CU with xp and leveling hasn't really changed much compared to precu. There is 1 exception... it's slower. Being your full templated jedi is a great result without question but at what point do you draw the line? To me, balanced and fun this is not.
fun and engaging is subjective but certainly we can all come to some forms of agreement.
Would you consider soloing your level creatures 200 400 800 & 1600 times fun and engaging? Is this what's considered paying your dues? It seems there are some very bitter people here that just because their experience wasn't the greatest think everyone should suffer the same way.
I'm sorry but I think the point of the game is to have fun in a star wars environment. What's starwars? Wel to many it's about being jedi. So how do you balance leveling jedi and still make it fun? Unless you consider the current state fun?
Do we just make everyone jedi? no of course not. Only those willing to go through the rigorous process.
Personally I wouldn't mind if I could group without fear of loosing the xp I have gained (due to bh hunts). Are the xp requirements still hi? Well sure. Should they be that high? I don't know.
Is getting that xp fun? to me? not really it's painfully slow & boring.
There are some of you that think just because one strives to become a jedi means it should be a painful process. I'm not a believer of that. I mean can't it be fun too? I think the game should be fun for all regardless of your profession.
To anyone with a response like "well if you don't like it quit". Good one. Personally I'd prefer to see more people playing and enjoying the game. Quitting is an option I think we're all aware of. I think posting things like this are out of frustration. It's to voice an opinion to get some feedback. Most are posting because they don't want to quit. I think if we work to be more supportive of the players perhaps we can get if anything at least some internal resolve with this conflict.
Agree or not this is a point of concern for many.
I know I'd feel a lot better if someone from dev would come out with a clear stance on the design goals and overall process for leveling jedi... Why does everyone think it should be so different from the rest of the game.
nowhere that I've found has it said anything like:
CU is to make everyones experience more fun and balanced "EXCEPT JEDI".
I like being hunted but don't like the xp loss. I like grouping but don't like getting vis due to potential xp loss. I don't like soloing cause it's boring. I'm just looking to have more fun ingame & I think there are better solutions than requiring people so slit their wrists. (that's a figure of speech)... Maybe you disagree & jedi are having the time of their lives.

Hi everyone, can someone help me with the weapon skill. I was away from the game since one year and a lot of things has change, so i'm now completly mixed up. I'm marksman 4-4-2-4 Bh 4-4-4-0 Mtk . I want to get novicerifleman but i don't know whatcertification i have since it does not appear anymore on the menu. And an other thing i have a combat level of 71? I don't know what it means. I will hear some people say how come he has a char already at this level, it is an old account that was close, but the char was still alive. Can someone help me about the stats i should look for a good rifle?
I hope you will understand my bad english, than you for your help.

Wecome back to the game. First off know that all weopons now require a certain level or certification to use them. For example, I am MBH, Mcarbs 4040 medic with some FS, as you can see I have no rifle abilities but I can still use most Rifles because I am level 80 which is achieved by mastering 2 elite combat professions only. So if you are looking to advance your rifle skills, get a laser rifle most likely because it is lvl 54 and its pretty good. Go to the bazaar, click on vendor location then on entire galaxy, look under weopons then rifles, and you will see every rifle in the game posted. Examine them all and see which ones you have the level enough to use and which ones you like best.

Thank you my friend, i will try what you told me. I have started a new char on an other galaxy to familiarize myself to all the changes. After that i will coma back with my old one.
