And many of the people who came before you had to deal with permadeath. It IS meant to be hard.

guess you forget that all jedi int hat system were rebel and not able to go imperial till padawan. Only thing that made them diffrent were the guild tags only way to tell who was what.
I'll assume you are talking about the perma death system, that is not what I am talking about. I didn't forget anything, it would appear you did

Why is not meant for everyone? Are you saying Jedi is meant for the select few - maybe just for the few power gamers with 4+ hours a day to waste on a game?
It shouldn't be easy; all but a few agree with that statement.
btw... Jedi isn't hard; just boring. Wasn't hard in the old systems, still nothard in the new system.

yeah I think you guys are missing the point. Then again maybe I am
...
the goal of CU was to create a new fun and engaging experience. It was also an effort to create a balanced system. In short some paddies (including myself) are having a tough time. This is not to say being jedi shouldn't be difficult. Then again I've not heard anyone ask to be knighted right away.
What I do hear is people struggling with the process for enjoying the game. Low level padawans have reached a point of diminishing returns...
That being said the current state of CU with xp and leveling hasn't really changed much compared to precu. There is 1 exception... it's slower. Being your full templated jedi is a great result without question but at what point do you draw the line? To me, balanced and fun this is not.
fun and engaging is subjective but certainly we can all come to some forms of agreement.
Would you consider soloing your level creatures 200 400 800 & 1600 times fun and engaging? Is this what's considered paying your dues? It seems there are some very bitter people here that just because their experience wasn't the greatest think everyone should suffer the same way.
I'm sorry but I think the point of the game is to have fun in a star wars environment. What's starwars? Wel to many it's about being jedi. So how do you balance leveling jedi and still make it fun? Unless you consider the current state fun?
Do we just make everyone jedi? no of course not. Only those willing to go through the rigorous process.
Personally I wouldn't mind if I could group without fear of loosing the xp I have gained (due to bh hunts). Are the xp requirements still hi? Well sure. Should they be that high? I don't know.
Is getting that xp fun? to me? not really it's painfully slow & boring.
There are some of you that think just because one strives to become a jedi means it should be a painful process. I'm not a believer of that. I mean can't it be fun too? I think the game should be fun for all regardless of your profession.
To anyone with a response like "well if you don't like it quit". Good one. Personally I'd prefer to see more people playing and enjoying the game. Quitting is an option I think we're all aware of. I think posting things like this are out of frustration. It's to voice an opinion to get some feedback. Most are posting because they don't want to quit. I think if we work to be more supportive of the players perhaps we can get if anything at least some internal resolve with this conflict.
Agree or not this is a point of concern for many.
I know I'd feel a lot better if someone from dev would come out with a clear stance on the design goals and overall process for leveling jedi... Why does everyone think it should be so different from the rest of the game.
nowhere that I've found has it said anything like:
CU is to make everyones experience more fun and balanced "EXCEPT JEDI".
I like being hunted but don't like the xp loss. I like grouping but don't like getting vis due to potential xp loss. I don't like soloing cause it's boring. I'm just looking to have more fun ingame & I think there are better solutions than requiring people so slit their wrists. (that's a figure of speech)... Maybe you disagree & jedi are having the time of their lives.

btw.. for what it's worth I posted my experience below. haven't heard any responses on that post yet. Maybe It's too verbose or I'm just a very bad writer. Maybe I'm saying the same thing others have said & not bringing anything new to the table. Several options here but feel free to comment your ideas.

we already do make everyone a jedi =)
The grind is rather boring, I agree. Getting hunted is part of the fun, don't look at it as a set back but a learning experience. No one will ever NOT get knight because of a BH. Trust me, everyone will get knight that wants it, that much is certain.

Dude... you have your grind finished... I can tell you right now that you had it easy... compared to how it is now, ikt was YOU who had it handed to you.
I did most of my grind in the new system, and I am near completing my template. In the old system, the one you did your grind in, I was able to get 200k xp in a buff session... but now, I get just over 25k in 2 hours. The way I have it calculated, it will now take me another three months to get my last nine boxes... 3 MONTHS!!!! I have seen some folks go from padawan to knight in the old system in less than 3 months, but I am a CL 80, and if it it this hard where I am, it's GOT to be harder for the lower levels... so either step off your high horse and be constructive or ride that high horse off to where the sun don't shine, my friend!
