Thread: The Jedi StarFighter
Only the person who finished the quest can use the Jedi Starfighter. I'm sure there are people who arleady knew this, but I didn't. I have my main who is Rebel and an alt that's an Imperial. Only because I wanted to get the JSF. From my understanding the devs said that if we (Rebels) wanted to get the ship we could buy one or trade one off an Imp player. Meaning we could use the deed. But I found out, after having grinded space and finishing the mission for Vader, that I could NOT use it on my main. Only my alt, who finished the quest, was allowed to use the ship.
I hate it when you're told, by the devs, that you can trade for the ship and use it only to find out that's not true.
I'm hoping they'll fix this, but we'll see.

The Jedi didn't make their starfighters. Kuat Systems did. They are a company. Not Jedi's on an assembly line.Kuat systems was a private corporation.
The Jedi may have modified their personal starfighters, but heck....what decent pilot doesn't do that??
Ya know, you can find all of this information on the official Star Wars site. The ETA-2's are nothing special - just another ship built in a long line of ships by Kuat Systems.
Kind of what I said 2 pages ago. Absolutely agree, its a fighter like any other just made to be agile (like the later TIE). You see the TIE like fighter flying around at the end of the film after the Jedi temple is in ruins so its clear the design was in the Empire's hands. As to the post about the Actis being based on Anakin's mods of an earlier fighter, bit dubious about that - EU I am guessing. Think it more likely that a team of trained engineers would design a fighter craft, it being a difficult long drawn process. Given that the clone armour alters between films there is an obvious process of technical progress occuring. There is too much emphasis on the impact of Jedi in some peoples minds, as if nothing happens without them, bit daft. Really not sure why people are hung up on this. A little bit of diffence between factions is no bad thing - especially as the Bell-22 functions as the Actis anyways they say so its not a balance issue. Having Rebels in TIE looking craft would be naff.
I love the illogical arguements people are throwing out.
Here's the answer you all seek:
Imperials get the Jedi Starfighter, because it was the same starfighter Anakin flew, and he personally gives it to you.
The reason Imperials get it, is because Darth Vader gives it to you, and Darth Vader happens to be a part of the Empire. How hard is that to understand?

Lol, yep - absolutely true. Though I think some people have issue with the fact that the fighter is from an Imperial quest and think it should come from a Rebel quest as well/instead of (not given by Darth Vader, obviously). Me, I'd dislike seeing it in Rebel hands as it looks TIE like but some don't see it that way [shrug]
But obi-wan is dead, meaning he cant exactly give you a ship....

Correct me if I'm wrong didnt obi wan have a Starfighter also?!? How easy would it to have been for the devs to create a quest based around getting Obi Wans Jedi starfighter for the rebels?!?That way both factions could have the ship. Now I ask you is that hard to understand?!? Guess it is for the devs as stupid as they are.
Watch closely the movie.... look at Anakin's ship... and look what is the symbol that ship has... and WE are not doing the quest for the Obi-wan's Starfighers.

I just learned from a friend that the only way to get this is by doing an imperial quest, thus being an imperial...
I myself dont think this is right, you only have to look at the most recent film to see the fighter used by Obi Wan, as sure rebel as Luke. Furthering this point, the ARCs are used by the cloners - who later become the imperial stormtroopers.
There foer i feel it is due that the new ships (ARC, JSF and Greivious' ship) should be open to all factions, just as the certificates say.
Does any one else have an opinion on this? If you disagree, say do , and if you agree, perhaps we can get enough signatures to turn the heads of the developers...
