Thread: Pricing

thanks......the only question i have is how do you know what cl a creature is when its a baby ??
If you're a master scout, you can see the CL of any creature by using the /examine command. Obviously, anyone who is any flavor of Ranger will be able to do this, too, as they must be a master scout to get the novice ranger box.
The CL that is listed on your datapad is the CL of the critter right now, not necessarily its adult CL level. The examine command will give you the adult CL of the critter.
Oh God, here we go agian, another moronic price thread.
If you are such a crappy businessman that does not want to make money and can only get people to pay minimal prices for your crap product fine.
Personally, I charge 45k for a rancor, 35k for a gurreck and dont even sell that other crap.I bet to somethose pricesare chaep.
The fact I sold 20 rancors last week tells me I should have charged 50k plus
Surprisingly, i have sold a few Kimos (after telling people they CANT be tamed ) for 50k each. Nice house decoration
Use your heads people.
CHARGE WHAT PEOPLE WILL PAY.
Get maximum profits. If you are one of a handful of BE, why are you artificially lowering the price?
Hey guys, I got a really late start into armorsmith, and I can now make Chitin. I'm wondering what pricing is on it. I got chestplate at 3k, helmet/leggings at 2.5k, biceps/boots/bracers/gloves at 2k (7%-13% resists). Is is priced too high? Is armor just not a big seller anymore unless you do composite?
Thanks,

I only sold Mabari until I got up to Tech IV... then I started working on Chitin... that was mostly because I was kind of embarrased about the quality of the stuff I was making...
Most of the Chitin I make normally goes for around 30k... but that's just on my server, my advice is to take a look around at some armour vendors in the area and find out what they're charging... (and the quality) then price your stuff accordingly.
Keep in mind that you will get a lot more exposure on the Bazaar but will probably have to price your wares lower...
i never sold any armor untill i was tech 4 but i made armorwearve segs with a macro and sold those to other novice armorsmiths that made mabari to get exp.
You prices sound fine to me. But then again ever server varries.
I sell mine at 3 cr per resource where it just says metal, hide, fiberplast. or even ferious metal. Not to specific.
Where it starts saying nertrionium steel or lokian leathery hide, I charge 6 per. And I'm still told by some of my pa mates that it is some of the most inexpencive armor they have seen. When I get master I'll have to rework the prices.
For Chitin, I charge 3-4K per item if it's in the 30s, and 7-9K per item if it's in the 50s (Advanced). I sell it about exactly as fast as I can craft it without losing my mind, which is fine by me. I have money now and I like the feel of a well-stocked shop.
I'm more interested what others are selling their padded for?

I give my armor away for free (I've only got Tech II though). I'll probably get Tech IV and then start selling Chitin at cost or making Adv Mabari and giving it away for free. That doesn't really help you I guess, but I'm not in Armorsmithing for profit (until I hit master anyway). So... sell at cost.
