Thread: Pricing
I sell at a decent cred/resource rate and I normally run out of stock within a day or two. For those of you selling probots for 3k, why don't you just sell the resources? You could save yourself some time =)

hehe I sell level 4 armor probots for 3k on the bazaar. Y'all must hate me, but I'm ahead another 60k this week (so you can do that and make a profit).
I know a lot of people that buy probots cheap and sell them for 10k plus profit...
(Not a lot of work doing that, easy money with no resources needed except a little money to start.)
hi im a master arch on naritus as well ,.. i have been chargeing more then 150 for a large ( 190) and had no trouble selling them ,.. however. i think i will get with matchign prices of other masters for one importaint reason ,.. now that the majority of the dupe res are gone from the cheats prices need to stablalize and i want to be within reason and not undercut anybody nor do i wish to over charge my customers . im a solo crater no pa and such and on top of that am havign problems with vndors eating items so i cant just open a store( really sucks ) makes sellign vey hard to do unless oen want to stand in theed all day ,.. personally i am a reclusive person i live down by lake resort and just want to craft and toss em on a vendor but after lossign over 300 items in 2 diffrent vendors i would never put a pa hall on one.
anyway i cast my humble vote for sm 15, med 70k, large 150, factory 50 ,pa 500, med/solar 15k ,30 k other mdium rigs,..
as fo rthe guy that says the customer should nothave to run 25 missions to buy so and so house ,.. well guess what he runs the missions yes they are a drag ,. .but are soon over and forgoten ,.. our items are unfortunatly eternal ,.. i woudl love to work 1 or 2 days and have a place to live for life ,.. hehe
( ignore my tag line im only master architect and master artisan with soem misc skills nowdays ( had to finnally pick one hehe)
Small house... $8000 lets see
Resoruce cost me .52 currently but for the sake of arguemnt leets call it .75 ( maybe you live in a bad area )
.75 X 3388 = $2541 in resrouces. Lets overestimate overhead ( re-deeding etc ) and say it cost you $3500 tops to make that house. You sold it at $8000.
That is well over 100% profit, and since I overestimated some thing it is probably closer to 200%
Dont listen to these bozos, they just dont want to actually compete.
If your prices work for you, heck with the "experts" and make your business fly in thier face.
Business is war, and it is PVP war at that.
Well im glad U do that. Im A mastr arch and to lvl i did the same. Its great for the novice arch and I applaud. As Master im finding it hard to keep minerals stocked. We all buy minerals to finnish orders once u are half way up Architect. I dont make small houses as most ppl are selling theirs to get mediums and larges so they sell for 2500 an just plzin not even worth the time doin for 15k. I've had so many requests for heavy harvs @ my 100k price that i have completely depleted my resources. I realised quickly tho that the ppl buying them are mining only and selling the resources. I asked a few ppl if they were crafters and what profession.. most say um no dude im just selling resources... oh by the way can u make me some heavies Ill supply the resources an give u 10k for ur time and oh yea can u make me 3 large houses or 2 guild halls cause my friends an i wanna party. Hmmm I said scratching my head .. lemme get a calculator. A heavy selling resources @ 2 creds per unit will pay itself in less than a week.. hmmm i can make 2 in a week so thats 200k for me, my time my resources, maint and time and time and hmmm im makin like 50-100k out of that hmmm he;s makin like 100k sellin at 6 creds per on that cool copper he found. Good for him not so good for me Im not so greedy I say. But really as an arch we are all relitively poor compared to all but entertainers. Since we are crafters tho we should have some money as we arnt doin it for art. Not any art here anyway. We do it to make money... Not sayin ppl should raise their prices. Stick with what u are doin as u lvl. When ur master u might have PA or friends givin u lots an don mind buying resources from ppl who u sold harvs too but Im gonna sell heavys for 300k and explain that they will pay off in 2 weeks. I hope nobody will actually order any an im gonna just stockpile resources for another day. Rant over flame away and ps friends i wont be makin shizz for cheap no more , thats for ppl who are actually still gettin xp so....

Here is my pricing structure;
Houses 15/84/160k
Med Min Harvs 21k
Med other Harvs 45k
Large Harvs (except water) 160k
Solars 27k
Factories 50k
PA Halls 500k
I typically stock about 1.5million - 2.5million credits worth of items on my vendors. It usually turns within a week.
As far as advice on startingstrategies for people getting into the architect line? Instead of sellingsmall houses for 8k each, make wall segments and sell them to Masters for 9k each. They are great exp and leaves you only having to harvest 2 types of resources (Ore and Metal). At 9k you get 3cr per resource, which isn't great, but it's a lot more than the 2.5 or so your getting for selling a small house for 8k.
If you were on Tarquinas I would be happy topurchase wall modules or for that matter I will purchase your small houses and use them to stock my vendor. I try to find a way to support and make smoe level of profit when working with the other Novice Architects.
I just don't get it
I mean sure Shadowfire is a fairly young server only a bit over a month but I wasn't nearly the first MA, think the first ones had MA on day 2 or 3 of the server (they were the grinders). It took me till just last week to get to MA but I never felt the need to grind. Everything that I made I sold and I have always since the first day I turned on my "novice architect" title been in a backorder situation.
I'm not PA backed, I do have extra lots, I mine 90% of my own resources and only buy when I see what I feel is a good value. On the whole Shadowfire has a very under priced market for all goods.
3.5 is my low end for structures (factories & medium harvesters) 5.0 is my current high. Every bit of experience I made from novice to master was made making items for orders or for my furniture vendor that sells out with prices ranging from 5.0-12.0
For those of you that say lower your prices to make more money I just have to ask why? I have my resources tied up till middle of the week selling at the prices I have. Lowballing won't make my harvesters produce faster or give me more room for additional harvesters, it would only decrese my profit ratio. I'm doing just fine finacially, I'll most likely hit my first million by the end of this week, not bad for my first week as Master Architect. I haven't had to do a mission in weeks, I've done em to get away from my shop and do something different for awhile, change of scenery is always good.
