I've had this problem too but all i had to do was pick it up, open it, the items were then there, and then set it back down and i could open it and see everything again while it was on the floor/floating (backpacks)... i almost cried the first time it happened but then i picked it up and luckily my 100k of ore and 25k each of steel/alum/copper hadn't been lost into the void that is SOE's crappy network/database...

I too had this problem last night. But I logged on this afternoon and they were there again. I have heard several suggestions that you should pick them up and then open, as was listed before here. Hope it's something that gets looked into soon, so people like me don't have strokes when they see everything gone.

Picking the backpack up fixed the issue for me. I'm guessing it is the same issue that my safe deposit doesn't show all the time. Seems to have to load for some reason and it takes a while.

Quick note to above comment, 3k + in PvE. So whatever 25% of that is would apply in PvP. And more if they were wearing armor & I was using AR2 laser rifle

Yes, the 3 second rule is going to hurt. It will only be survivable if:

The Melee Penalty goes away.
They REALLY jack our damage.
They give us some sort of way to hide from other PCs.

Now that they are finally giving Melee players some actual fighting ability (every other class but us considers Melee a joke, you know) our penalty has to go. End of story. Especially if we are going to be firing less often.

Furthermore, if we have to wait 3 seconds between shots, we need one-hit kills. And I don't just mean every now and then. I mean we need real, serious ONE-HIT-KILLS.

I don't care what kind of limits they put on it, we need to get our foot in the door with the whole "sneak attack" concept. Look, the real reason we all have a radar is because if they DIDN'T put one in, it would be the first hack dropped into the game. That's why you can see everthing on the map. Because if they didn't make it so, it would have been hacked in and some people would have a SICK advantage.

So instead we have a radar and everyone can see everyone. However, I can't honestly believe that someone would hack the whole game just to see the few times that Riflemen go stealth and such. Give us limits. Make us be in Cover if we have to. Force us to approach with a Sneak. I don't care what the limits are. If we can find a way to survive 250% Melee Damage, we can sure as **** handle that. But give us a CHANCE to get the first hit. Since it's usually our only one.

sorry, i'm a carbineer checking out the diff responses to the proposed change...umm, they ALSO increased the damage of kd with the kd nerf. guess what? i average 2 damage more ona kd than i used to. thats...it. also, they said that ham costs would be lowered, and that was said of kd as well. guess waht? kd cost went UP 8. charge shot 2 (i know, i know, off topic, but it shows a trail dating back months of failed work) is supposed to be an aoe kd. it was neither aoe, and it didn't kd. they fixed it! yea! oh wait, now it just aggros a group of mobs. no damage. no kd. just aggro. no admission of it STILL being broken.

and they wonder why people lose confidence in them. a clear trail of past failures and attempted fixes, as well as pleasing the mass majority at the expense of the minority. i'm happy that pistoleers are getting fixed (no exaggeration or sarcasm there at ALL), but they need to fix ALL the prof's since they're ALL broken. some MUCH more so than others (*cough* *cough*)

just my thoughts, hope i didn't offend any elite combat's out there. devs...well, um...yeah.

Hey, all!

Novice Ranger here. I know the /conceal aka camo kits are a top issue and no need to get into all that again: except I will add that I find them prohibitive in costs and generally not worth the effort or expense. Nuff said.

My issue is with maskscent as a Young Ranger. I've seen this posted once before, albeit on the Scout bboards: maskscent as a Ranger in a group and you can expect to be the only one who constantly breaks it and draws aggro to the group. It's more than annoying, it's embarrassing and completely illogical. I can't tell if it's deliberate or a bug. Someone tell me, please.

Ex: on Lok:

Doing all missions to the North, level 50 with a group of 5---I'm the only Ranger. Everyone else has the basic maskscent. Running madly between redspawns, time after time, every single time, I'M the one who breaks maskscent and gets the party ambushed.

What is up??? I'm a Ranger heh. I'm the master of high end maskscent---er, aren't I? If not, then who/what is?

thanks

Kirk,

That was weird.

Anyway, as I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted by the return key, you max out your Mask Scent modifier as a Master Scout. Being a Ranger has nothing to do with it anymore.

You get /conceal, which is supposed to be better than Mask Scent. Hopefully, this will be fixed so that it is.

NRaas and I are working hard to get this addressed. Thanks for hanging in there.

You know....I hear what you are saying, Brisc, but I just don't know....

I've got friends who I regularly run with and they aren't even at Exploration IV yet, and I've got Wayfaring II, but my mask scent seems to break probably 5-10 times to their one, at leaston Lok. I understand what you are saying about the mask scent supposedly maxing out at Master Scout and that the Ranger skills shouldn't even have a factor in it, but it almost seems like they DO have a factor, albeit a negative factor, because Scouts aren't having the same problem I'm having.

Just my .02 creds.

Mal,

The problem is simply that we don't know for sure. Perhaps what I should have said is that being a Ranger shouldn't have any impact on your success rate with mask scent.

I am well aware of some weirdness going on, and I'm trying to get some Dev attention. But we're not at the front of the line anymore, so we've got to be patient.

After a bit of experimentation over the weekend, I have concluded that I am *safer* running around without Maskscent. I get agro much less than when I have it on. The problem is that if Maskscent "breaks" then the mob will agro. I have had much less occurance of agro'ing when I don't use mask scent.

It seemed to work better before they added "cameo", but cameo is pretty much worthless too. sigh...

I have done the same experimentation over the last two days now, and I've come to the exact same conclusion. Therefore, I wholeheartedly concur with this statement.

It's really strange. Right after they made the first set of fixes for mask scent, I used it a lot and was ecstatic with the results. It got to the point that I became VERY conscious of when I was, and when I wasn't, using the skill. I made sure to remind others in my groups to always mask their scent as well. It worked like a charm. And the bonus part was that we were actually getting scouting xp's as well. It was awesome.

Now however, I find myself actually having to stop myself from my natural instinct to use mask scent. I still do it when I'm running through areas that aren't so dangerous, just because I'm not as concerned if those creatures aggro on me, and I like the extra little bits of scouting xp, just for a goof. But, if I'm somewhere where I don't really want to fight the creatures, and I'd rather just run past them, I'm probably safer without it.

Just my .02 creds.
