Thread: Is this normal?
Anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal!?!?!?
Typically this is because there is something (chemical, ore) that a new type needs that you haven't had to deal with before.
For any chemical in the final assembly - use LUBE OIL!
For any steel, metal, or ore in the final assembly, make sure that HR, SR, and UT are all over 900 (it's more complecated but this is close enough for now).
All the experimentation numbers are the sama as when I build other extractor types.
The only possible explanation I can come up with is that high capacity flora farms are just a bit harder to make.
I have managed to make BER 13 Floral Harvestors and other harvestors without worrying about the overall experimentation value of the sub mining components that went into them. Currently I just make the sub components out of crap materials and then use the good stuff for final assembly. And I use polymer for my Chemical. All the resources in my final assembly have ratings about 950 in UT, SR, and HR. I really believe that is the only thing that matters- What you use for final assembly.

OK,
I am seeing something similar with the Heavy Harvesters I am making. I use the following components :
1) Heavy Harvesting Mechanism- 86% BER 6
2) Steel - 973 UT, 950 SR, 960 HR
3) Ore - 926 UT, 594 SR, 944 HR
4) Chem - 958 UT, 719 SR, (No HR)
With the same resource (except theOre of course), I can make a 13 BER heavy (hits 13 at 80+%experimentation). Now my understanding is that lower quality resoures reduces your max experimentation value, but that the rollover is consistent with reaching a specific experimentation value.
Am I missing something.
Seriously, that chem is killing you.
Also, I think that an 86% mining component may be "iffy" - I usually have mine in the 92-96% range. It is averaged in with the final assembly quality for the final result.
50% is a high bug rate i'd say, but not unheard of. there are some very creative ways to deal with bugged missions. if there's a way around it, chances are someone has either tried and failed or succeded and posted the how's of it on the forums somewhere. keep grinding, they'll get better. try doing missions out of mos eisley. i really don't know why, but i hardly ever get a bugged mission when i start in mos eisley.
