Thread: Question...

I'd at least try it. I mean, I'd start a character on that server (whatever it was) and participate. If things went really well, I might even use the character transfer service (if/when they institute it) to move my primary character there. Of course by the time they do that I'd probably have mastered musician, dancer and entertainer on the new server!

Sadly, no, but I talk to you almost every day Javy so I'll be fine

Why not just do this on Bria? I bet it would be one of the most popular cities on the server.

It's a hypothetical question, A'Ri. Even if it were to become real, we'd need buy-in from enough entertainers to really make a go at it, and then that group of people would have to decide on a server.

I would dearly love to do this on Bria, but the idea would meet with resistance there too, as some are dedicated to their existing PAs. Keep in mind, it's easy for a gypsy to change allegiance since I have none. Not everyone is like that. Plus, I'm a tailor and a dancer, not a politician.

It's definitely a dream of mine, though. Imagine what that city would be like to live in.

A group of entertainers tried this on infinity recently, it was getting a good reputation, but then there were some problems. not sure what they were specifically, but it was something to do with a pvp guild setting up in the town too.

Thewt was one of the people who set it up , if you consider trying it on Infinity then it maybe an idea to talk to him. he posts a lot on the Infinity and ID forums.

Yes, without reservation. I switched to Bria upon my return partly because I wanted to relearn my skills from the ground up, but also because I lurked in these forums and saw that a large chunk of the active, intelligent and decent posters on the board were from that server. If there was a possibility of a large group of us concentrating on one server in one city and outlawing the buffbots and afkers...I would be there with bells on, baby.

Till then, Midge will rock on, deliver mail for her clothes allowance and dance Popular (my fav dance ever!) in her new flaming red Pop outfit. I may even stick a Fizz up my nose and play occasionally.

I would hazzard a guess that this would be the city of Roho's dreams, too. His greatest challengemight be what skills to drop to pick up politician again!

Hypothetically speaking, yes, I definitely would.

Hypotheticals aside however, I'm currently mayor pro-tem of a city. Our mayor bugged out and left me with his account. I keep trying to get others to take over but they keep saying, "Oh no Esh, we think you're doing a great job!". It is sooo very tempting to turn it into an Entertainment center but we're Research right now and as much as I suspect that bonus doesn't do much, I think the crafters would throw a fit! But I might just have to put a little thought into this and maybe hold a vote. We could call it my own little experiment to see if anyone actually reads my city mail! For the time being though, I've got my hands full taking care of Kraytia.

Hypothetically, with Server X not being the server I currently play on (which really is like 3 servers...), I would absolutely devote the majority of my "galaxies time" toward a character on Server X. It sounds as though this city would be an ideal place to put the Entertainer Memorial if it were to become a reality. (Of course I love having it in Mos Elsewhere, but it would be more fitting in a purely entertainment-devoted town)

I can't say I would abandon Lilo or Tral completely for this, but they would almost certainly take second-place to this character.

Honest opinion?

Building a city of all ____ type of player creates a void. You need combat types, crafter types and non social types to maintain the economy of your community. I have seen this happenin several entertainer primary guilds. It starts off with a vision of a socializers utopia and ends up with one person alone in a cantina in an empty unvisited city.

The idea isn't to restrict who can live in such a place. The idea is to have a town whose primary purpose is social fun, not combat. Many entertainers also have combat skills or craft. Shopping is a huge entertainment concept all its own, so crafters would be more than welcome.

It would be difficult to be sure, that's why the question is a hypothetical one.
