In a combat simulation they're one and the same.Ok you're retarded.
Let me put it this way, that craft over there has guns, he has intelligence, and he has engines. He is going to fight you when you go near him...what makes him different from a player and an AI?

Wow. What rock have you been living under? Really. The difference between human intelligance and AI? Do you really need me to explain this? God I hope not. If you can't tell the difference between a human opponent and an AI one you seriously need help. Like, really.

In skill based games such as flight sims or first person shooters they can rig AI to react faster then humans can, they can be better then us in some ways and lesser in others. As humans are we come up with strategies that can be used to defeat our enemies such as the uber AI, but it can also use its faster reflexes and steal shots to blow us away because we can never match its ability to have perfect aim.

we arnt saying that ai is a heck of alot beter then a human,we here what ur saying, but when fighting an npc u use the same tactics right,so in a sense it still take skill to kill the ai right....and if the make the ai really samrt he CAN be a challenge,we r trying to make perma overt not a bad thing, saying they r two different things in the sense that u mean is true but not in what we mean and ur not helping us make pvp look good lol

so in a sense it all depends on how well the ai is,juast like a human,it all dpends on how skilled the human is,its all the same, only differnce is ai cant learn but thats not enoguh to end all perma overt

Judging by your lack of skill using the English language I've determined you're an idiot.
Now now Achilles play nice mate, english might not be his first language.

Excellent post. This is something I was arguing a while back and I had a long post on how we could do it. One of the ideas was a no-TEF system which is a very nice way to do things when it is skill based and keeping it in an MMO style.

The major difference between pvp and pve, for people who don't want pvp exclusivly, is that npcs arn't roaming around in an organized hunt for overt players. An npcdoesn't react untilthe player to come to it. So the player can take on those npcs on his own terms, on his own time. Some people enjoy this kind of content.
In pvp things are a lot more hectic. The other players are activly hunting for overts like you, and they are organized in a waynpcs can never be. If you get caught off guard by a group of pvping rebels, you are going to be a lot more worried then if youaccidently flew into a bunch of npc rebels. Some people enjoy this kind of content.
The Devs have designed a system where the player chooses the kind of combat content they participate in. Both will be available for everyone. And if you enjoy both play styles, like I do, then you can switch between the content at any time.
If the Devs were to make anyone flying a faction ship overt, then all it does is remove content from the people who enjoy pve. (I'm sorry to the artists, but some of us don'tfind the neutral ships very Star Warsy) While not adding any content to the pvpers. Because you still won't be fighting those players forced into neutral fighters.

i garentee what iv been saying about pvp and pve being very close is true,i know we are better the AI but we still need to use use tactics and its till a challenge to fight them. That if you like pve you will like pvp and if yu dont like pvp you wont like pve....that simple

In space an npc camn be just as dangerous as a pc would, its all skill lvl.
yes its true that pc r more skilled then AI but some AI are beter then some players, and u can teach AI to use tactics and be orginized, yes it take more work but u canteach AI to do any thing and every thing, but it must be programed to do it
