my feeling is...is that once u have a few weeks of combat xp u should ok in space, and that pvp or pc vs npc,it will be very hard to tell the differnce, heck i bet half of the players in the game r worse pilots the the ace u will need to kill to be a mstr pilot, the reason all of us old pro pilots want pvp because we all know this basic consept,or alot of us any way,i know i do.

if uv played XWA online ull know that the players u meet there arnt much beter then some of the ace npc in XWA,we want it so much because we know a part of the game will be missing, all u people saying u only want pve,the thing u guys r missing is that there r very little differances between the two, shor real people r a bit beter but if u give an AI really good skills he will be a big challenge, they say 10 percent of people r the ones who like pvp,...let me state this, pvp if done right will be very different then it is

on the ground, its twicht, the ground isnt twicht, all u people saying that a rebel doing the qeust missions will get hamerd by pilots that r beter then them, maybe rthey can make is so that if ur doing thos missions then pvp is consensual but not when ur flying in an x wing and a few ties want to attack u,y fly a FIGHTER if ur not prepared to FIGHT,they r called fighters for a reason

My eyes burn from trying to read this, but I think I get what you're tying to say with all the wrong letters.

The problem is that in PvE, you choose the fight. If they look too difficult, you can move on to a target you have better chances with. This is of immeasureable value to those who like to solo, which is the majority of the population.

In PvP, the fight usually chooses you, only this go, it's you who is the soft target, because PvPers don't choose the hard fights.

This is notXWA. This is an MMO. In XWA, you join a game with a handful of other players with the assumtion that you're all going to be fighting each other in an arena-style matchup. Persistant-world MMOs work VERY differently. Youwill notalways have a squadron. You will not always have your ship of choice.Youwill notalways have an even or a fairchance. You will often have things to do and places to go that do not involve PvP conflict.

Twitch play does level the playing field a bit, but don't rely on that one difference to carry the day. Not when you're being attacked by a gank squad who arbitrarily chose this area of space as their own, or who just want their jollies, or who don't like the ship you're flying because they have their own view of roleplayingcontinuity. Even if you win, no one likes to lose, and that just means that next time they will come after you with greater numbers, or with more focus. At least NPCs don't carry a grudge.

Master Rifleman/ Master TKA/Master Brawler
or
Master Rifleman/ Master Doctor

Both solid combo's, both will tend to keep you on your feet(work well agianst KD/Dizzy a.k.a. 'rifleman bane' )

Just something for you to consider

I have over 193 carbine accuracy, and im speed capped, My carbine is 123-582 ap2 laser carbine with a +50ranged. my slugthrower is 187-357 ap1. sadly i can hardly damage buffed, armored opponents, i was duling a rifleman with a jawa ion (mind you i had mind buffz, canape, brandy, and even hit the mighty muon, also psg, synthesteak, and stun armor) the fight was going well, i got a dizzy, blinde, stun, posture down, fireknockdown, cripple cripple scattershot2. He starts running, then, sadly 1heal, all my damage that i just did is healed, he then proceeds to headshot3, flurryshot me untill i hit the ground. /sigh wait i take that sigh back. /SCREAM THE JAWA ION IS A DROID DISABLING WEAPON IT HAS NO ARMOR PIERCING! WHY IS THIS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS IN THIS GAME. /endrant

pvp's in an awful state..best just to get used to doing no damage and wait for the 'combat revamp'. Or you could go kill NS's for months till you get some nice dot weapons

You're forgetting most NS are 100% resistant to carbineers.

And this has been the State of PvP for over 6 months......only thing new is we don't scream so much at the Combat Medics......

/pessimism on

90% of this game could be "fixed" in ONE WEEK of programming....and that is with a lot of coffee breaks and plenty of testing.....

It is a real shame that we keep getting milked while this marketing machine just keeps rolling.....

/pessimism off

This HUGE Combat Revamp sounds really good and all the corrs are excited about it.....it sounds like a great system for SWG2

I can relate with the original poster. I have had the exact same scenario occur with me at least two times recently that I can think of. Each of those times I ran as to not give him the satisfaction of killing me. Rifleman are tough when they start healing themselves. The only way I can take them down when this is the case is if I catch them totally offguard, or I have another person with me to help. Otherwise it turns into a hit and run situation.

I just came back to PvP recently, and I'm not going to continue it.

A melee friend was tanking a fencer/melee stacker. I equipped my damage sliced with P'up Laser Carb, kneeled at ideal range, and spammed crippleshot for about 20 shots. I wasn't doing any noticeable damage. So I decided to just spam confusion shot just for the states to help my friend out. Unfortunatley they didn't last too long nor make a difference. We both died. /boggle
