The way I see it, there will be 5 new trees. Currently there are 3 trees. Either way, you will take whatever boxes you have now and get a direct translation into the new system. You will choose from those 5 trees the number of boxes you currently have. This is the way I am interpreting the system.

Jedi guardians 4444 will have the ability to invest 3 trees worth of skill points and directly go to the knight trials while those that are less than that will just be able to invest the number of boxes they currently have. 16 boxes = 16 boxes. All current Jedi will have already passed the padawan trials.

The best way to think about this is not in titles of current trees or the 3 different breakdown of trees we have currently.

Sounds to me like the whole skill tree system is getting changed everyone will start at padawan except for people who open after patch. But you will get all your skill points back to put into the new trees above padawan say your 4222 dark apprentice before patch you will be a padawan after patch but youll be able to redistribute all your skill points from before into the new trees. So a newb jedi would be a padawan but people who were allready a padawan and above will get there skill points back from the iniate, apprintice, guardian trees to advancefurther past padawn right away so the newb jedi wouldjust be at the new newb level.

Lol i think thats how its going to work out

"Passing the Padawan Trials" in the new system is the same thing as "Jedi Initiate" in the old system - a new Jedi. The titles do not translate directly.

Ok,

All Jedi that have unlocked automatically go to the padawan tree at revamp correct? Stop there if I am wrong. So if I am a 4/2/2/2 apprentice, and someone unlocks the night before the revamp....will they be just a few skill boxes behind me? I may be WAY off when reading the archives, I mean heck....no one knows how it will turn out until patch day, but if this is true...does it seem "fair" so to speak? Or will i get my 18 boxes to train in that it took me to reach apprentice 4x4+1+1. The plus ones being 1.5 mill for padawan, and the 3.2 mill to make apprentice. Any ideas? Or any opinions..or just how are you interpreting it. PLEASE!

you can go to the village, walk in and do the quests. I did it yesterday and feel a faint sense of the force.

Ummmm...Yikes? You had a good time with the hologrind...didn't you?

Seriously, that sounds like a whole lot more trouble than its worth. I figure that once I get my 6 stacks of blocks...I'll be on to bigger and grindier things...the Glowy Stick Grind! yay!!!

If you strike me down...

I will come back weaker than you can possibly imagine...

I agree with you that you need to have the 24 fs boxes to finish at the village. But, do you have to keep them once you have finished the exit quests and moved on to Padawan? All those existing Jedi that got converted with Patch 9 didn't have to spend the skill points to get the fs boxes. Does that mean that since we come later, we have to leave 24 skill points with these skills instead of using them on actual jedi skills?

all jedi from before patch 9 had to choose 6 trees from the force sensitive trees. as for K's question, i'm not sure if you were to get 7 trees, then drop one of the 6that helped you get jedi, would your Jedi still be force sensitve? anyone willing to drop a couple hunderd game hours to find out?

You CAN NOT EVER drop the skills.

Unless they make some change in the future

but its really unlikley

no other profs let you drop novice box , which is exactly what the 6 brances equate to.

Actually, you can drop the FS skills when doing the village quests.

While I was using one of my three unlocks in the village, I accidently surrendered one instead of a combat medic skill when I was trying to get skill points free.

It cost me 200k FS xp, but hey, took me an hour to get back.

The existing jedi most assuredly had to choose 6 trees of FS skills when the new system went into effect. Existing jedi (padawan) cannot surrender these skills or (to my knowledge) change these skills.

TH was begged to allow surrender of these skills, but responded by saying that they are a pre-requisite to travel that path. He said it wasmuch like marksman/pistols is to pistoleer, i.e: you could not drop marksman/pistols to progress in pistoleer.

Others' Take:

  • You unlock initiate with 6 branches.

  • You can only unlock one branch per phase.

  • you can't get rid of the FS skills that you preciously got

  • etc

  • etc

My question is...

  1. it takes 6 phases to complete the FS quests?

  2. Can you drop the FS skills when you get jedi initiate, by at least keeping the prerequisites for being a jedi? as in get melee accuracy then drop force sense healing, will that work?

Please correct me if i'm wrong and if you can, answer my questions. Thank you, this would help a whole lot!
