Well a Jedi techincally should have increased abilities, a non-Force Sensitive person can be ultimatly a better pilot. Though Vader is supposed to be "The finest pilot in the galaxy, and a cunning warrior"

The only real thing anyone has to stand on is the line that Quigon says about Anakin having jedi-like reflexes. Not jedi reflexes, jedi-like reflexes. So basically it comes down to personal skill rather than actual Jedi ability. (i would imagine that if qui-gon is such a powerful jedi he could have easily just hopped on the pod racer and won the race for everyone if jedi reflexes were really what the causes were)

Wow! Excellent point! I forgot to mention that...

Well done!

I didn't want to post a negative comment on this, but since it's swaing opinions I'll post.

Qui-gon said "...Jedi reflexes...". I just looked it up on the movie.

Go back and re look.

I'm not saying Jedi should get Anything. But FS skills aren't just for Jedi. And even so, the DEVs ALREADY said no, so I'm not arguing the point. Just correcting mis information.

That's what I'm trying to do...

And it's a fierce battle, you leave your self a little open (or in my case a large amout) and some one immediatly thinks that you're evil and want to destroy the world...

I would like to say that it shouldn't be jedi that would get any benefits to it in any case, but rather if there were ebnefits that it were FS under the vehicle control tree.

I just read most of the posts in here and figured I should mention something. Being a Jedi does not make you indestructible. I saw posts about how the AT-AT shot down Luke, and Jango almost got Obi-wan, etc. True enough. But Jango almost got Obi-wan on the ground too. And some of those Jedi in the big fight in episode II died to droids and others. In facta lot of Jedi were killed on the ground with their light sabers in their hands (just wait for episode III). And we see even in this game BH and other SKILLED people able to take on Jedi. Jedi can still make mistakes, can be overcome, be outfought or outmaneuvered. It is just harder to do it. Also, why would Obi-wan take over the Millenium Falcon? Why should he take the controls of a ship he has never seen when he has a SKILLED pilot who knows the ship intimately. Maybe he can't fly it. I doubt an F-18 pilot can fly a 747!

Being a Jedi simply gives you an edge. They have some amazing abilities and reflexes, but so do some other professions (eg. TK). What I would propose for JTL would simply be a modifier for damage avoidance, targetting, and maneuverability. Nothing major, but something where if you take 2 identical pilots and identical ships, the force sensitive pilot and ship would be fractionally more maneuverable, have a slightly higher weighting in favor of a hit (although not exceeding the weapon's max) and a slightly higher weighting in favor of avoiding damage (and if hit, a slight reduction in damage). Something on the order of maybe 2%, which is not enough to seriously effect the outcome. And it would be in keeping with what we see in the movies.

Yeah, and I want to see the Lord Vader and the Imperial Inquisition hunting down the Jedi and killing them wherever they appear, I want to join the Inquisition and get special abilities/weapons to hunt jedi. I want to see billions of storm troopers on the ground and billions of ties in the space.

What I want to say: if you as a jedi player refer to the movies or the EU - just dont forget that jedi have a _pretty hard_ stand in the time of the ruling empire. The most of you would just stop playing jedi even with the powers they have in the movies/EU. Those less jedi need all their power to just survive this dark period.

Who only plays JTL ?

I mean is it possible ?

When you see the huge amount of ressources necessary to craft ships and compoments, actually there's no way to gain enough money in space to allow you to buy all the ship chassis and parts you need.

No matter how you take it, JTL is linked to SWG, after all it is an expansion, not a stand alone game.

Whereas i totally agree that Jedi should have NO special abilities or perks in space, i don't see why the vehicle control FS skill shouldn't have any effect on ship handling.

I think it should improve a little the pitch/yaw/roll acceleration and nothing else, making it a little easier to handle slugish ships like the Y-wing. This way it would help a bit at the beginning but would have no noticable effect in PvP, after all what makes the difference in maneuvrability in high end combats (considering players of equal ability)is the pitch/yaw/roll top speedand not acceleration, i'm even sure this bonus that would help on Y-wings and other heavy ships wouldn't even be noticeable on hyper-maneuvrable fighters like the A-wing or TIE advanced and would be negligible compared to abilities like engine overload 3.

Anyway i know that won't be done for simple reason that it would cause way too much turmoil in the community (look at the heated posts in this thread! lol, i'm astonished each time i see how much Jedi are hated andi don't understand it, well that's maybe because i think of SWG as a RPG and not as a PvP arena), considering the little effect it would have on the game.

Yes, it's possible to only play the space game. You only need go find a way to get some credits to help you start. I know quite a few people came back because JtL.

I just want to go on record as saying that I sure as hell WOULD keep playing my jedi. Nothing could stop me from playing my jedi exept going completely broke, or SOE taking my jedi like they did that poor guy a few months back in that big rollback.

I have to say this is something that they really should think about changing for the sake of the Star Wars continuity. One of the main themes of the films was the fact that both Anikin and Luke were good pilots BECAUSE of their Jedi traits. The fact that this took place before they were Jedi would fit perfectly into the current FS system with the Vehicular Control. According to the story, Jedi are better pilots, it's as simple as that.

But the BEST wern't jedi at all. Infact theONLY pilots that crashed due to pilot error were all jedi, therest of the time they were getting shot down by bounty hunters andAT-ATs

Damn even vader couldnt shoot strait, he couldnt hit luke when he was 5m from his guns then got owned by a guy in a frighter.

So really, if jedi get force powers in space they should get a modifier that gives 90% chance of randomly crashing into the nearest object and exploding lol

I don't want any special Jedi powers or abilities in space, I just want to be able to convert Space Combat (Prestige) xp into Force xp, that's it...

Yeah, just as the other posts say, the only skills that will effect your flying is the skill tree and mostly you
