...Or is the first Imperial Endor mission (storm squadron) the absolute lamest mission ever to appear in a space shooter? For those of you who don't fly for the Empire, or haven't gotten to that point yet, here's how the mission goes: you're assigned to escort a transport of engineers to Endor. You fight off waves of tier 3 x- and y-wings, and, if successful, the transport arrives safely. Then, as you're getting ready to jump back to Yavin to report your successto your commanding officer, you get a message saying the transport, you know, the one that you just successfully escorted to safety, has been captured by rebels and must be rescued. The hapless transport, which has just magically teleported 13 km away, is now surrounded by a gank squad of tier 3 a-wings.
I'm not a terrible pilot, and the TIE/In is a decent ship, but come on. It's not that the mission is impossible; I could accomplish it if I got the help of a friend or two, but the utter stupidity of the mission's premise really annoys me.I'm guessing the dev who came up with the idea rides the short bus to work in the morning. Sigh. I was really looking forward to that TIE bomber, too. Oh, well. Goodbye, empire; hello privateer.
Anyone else feel that way, or am I just a loser who whines too much? On second thought, don't answer that question.
I'd also like to add that until this mission, I was rather enjoying JTL.

Read it again it says Another transport. Then theres a Cargo ship as well later. And the Solo part of you career is now over, You now get to be part of a Team. Congrats on a new way of Fighting.

Hey Reydon, would it be a novel idea to have them change the commando profession to where it could stand on it's own? Face it, even smugglers laugh at Commando's defenses. Why can't the devs allow the Master Commando's be of some use even in PvE like the TKA's you mentioned? Why should we be forced into some stupid and ignorant "template"? What's the point of being a Commando when I'm also gonna pull out an LS, whack em, then pull a flamethrower, then pull a pistol, then feign death? I mean, what's the point of that?
Don't get me wrong, I would think that Commando's should be one of the strongest professions in the game. Able to fight unarmed *nearly* as well as a full blown TKM, be able to defend themselves as good as any overrated fencer, and shoot bulleyes as good as anyone else who weilds a ranged weapon. I mean, what's the point of even being a master marksmen with the accuracy issues? Why not just only require the ranged support since that's all they want to allow in the elite part of it? Anyways, another case of them trying to fix something by adding in a million things from buffs to foods to drinks and being ignorant enough to ignore the real problem, the imbalance of the professions themselves. Perhaps we wouldn't need all the "gee-whiz" crap they add in all the time if we could all be a Master of a profession and be able to hold our own in a battle.
