true but the pure reason jedi are hunted to start with is because of the role jedi have in SW in this time period, cannon doesnt really support bh's huting jedi, but jedi hunting bh's from the obi wan finding and going to meet jango on genosis. THe trade of for bhs being able to fight jedi in space would have to be increased jedi power in space.

I for one am against this though, i consider space a free space from everything ground based.

You'll have to explain that to me more because I don't understand your point.

I don't think that Episode 2 makes a precident for Jedi's hunting Bounty Hunters. Obiwan was conducting an investigation that happened to involve a Bounty Hunter as a prime suspect. I think for Jedi's and Bounty Hunters alike, they don't specifically hunt each other, but if circumstances dictate that they do, they will. In Ep6, Boba Fett had a go at capturing Luke Skywalker. There wasn't a mention of a Bounty on Luke in the films (but I'd be surprised if Vader hadn't put one out), I think he was more acting as a security guard for Jabba, and since Luke was making a mess of Jabba's henchmen it was appropriate for Boba to stand up and do his stuff.

What Episode 5, in particular does, is make a precident for Bounty Hunters stalking their marks in space, ship to ship, in this case it was a bounty on a smuggler (Han Solo), but a mark is a mark.

To me the jedi/bh situation seem to be more of a accidental thing, at jabba's boba was working for him as security/retrival and so on like you say so its natural for him, he was chasing down Han Solo at the time i think.

Jango is at genosis to be the mold for the clone army and him ending up fighting Obi Wan was also an accident. so there isnt really anything supporting anything but BH's hunting smugglers.

There should be a way to force the jedi to land at least. They already got a whole planet to hide on along with thier houses thye carry around. They don't need the whole galaxy's space too.

It would be cool if you could fire at the jedi and force him to emergency land on the closest planet, where the hunt can continue.

Or they could turn off exp on Kash, put spynet OPs there and create informants that would give you clues as to where the Jedi had been seen, but not a WP. Then you could actually HUNT a Jedi and not just /findPaddy

I see, and I agree with your point.

So what we're left with is that Bounty Hunters don't hunt anyone in paritcular for the sake of what they are, it's just whoever a Bounty Hunter is paid to go after, and we've seen in the movies that they can and will do thier job in space aswell as on the ground.

I would be kinda cool, but the only time jedi hit space nowadays is to hyperspace to kashyyyk.
Plus it would take up time that they could use to fix important things, like fixing LoS bugs, and nerfing kashyyyk exp.

No, you wouldn't

Yes, I'm pilot Ace. That would be fun.

As a Jedi player, I'd be happy with this as long as...

A. No Xp loss when destroyed in space. (For the simple reason I'm not using Jedi skills to defend myself, I'm piloting the same as anyone else)

B. Bounty hunter will still get the payout and it will erase allmy visibility to that point.

Fair for all involved.

This system would never happen for two or three reasons.

  • If the jedi does not lose exp but the BH gains mission pay out, it can be abused so that a jedi can be an ace pilot but be flying a Y wing with only an engine and reactor. Free cash with minimal risk from ship item decay due to the fact that you can purchase all of said items for under 50k.

  • Ship and component decay effects quest ships and components as well. I have no problem killing a jedi for exp loss, because thats TIME he loses. However not all jedi are CA farmers, so I have a hard time justifying MONEY loss as well.

  • The fact that as others have mentioned, not every jedi is an ace, nor is every BH. It would leave too much of an unbalance, where as at least on the ground game you're an idiot if you're not a CL 80 BH, and you're an idiot if you're a CL 50 jedi who sticks around for the fight.

Not to mention it seems unnecessary since jedi can't cash in pilot exp, so its not like they're actually gaining anything while they cook off some visibility.

Edit: HTML blows. Fixed.
