Also, when you access the Starship Terminal and look at the Galaxy Map there is another planet there. Don't recall it there before CU. And while you manage your ship there is also a new catagory listed called Cargo hold. Although I haven't seen it, in the Master Shipwright Datapad Schematics, the new craftable ships are listed. Can't be made yet since some of the components requires will be added with the new expansion. Things like asteroid ore. This info coming from a MS friend.

space mining is kinda fun.. but when that chunk breaks off and then explodes i cant ever get all the little ones they go in every dir and when im done im 1k from the big rock lol.. no im not in beta no i never signed the nda but some one made a mistake on tcep3 and i was running around kyshkkk with green 40% speed cyber legs and shooting the cool sounding turrets that are all around avatar station...BTW when you get to it hit shif c and be a real smart arse to them .. its fun he he he

ALL new Items need Space-Resources ...
and you need 6 diff. to have a "CargoHolder" and a "Mining-Laser" ...


it works not with only a CargoHolderand normal Lasers ... (tested on TC3)


If you have 6 x "30k -Resource" ... you can test with a Mining-Laser ...
I have some CargoHolder and Carbonaceous Asteroid ...

need Methane-, Organometallic- and Iron-Asteriod ...

There is very little I can say about this - but can I give the general advice of not wasting 30k resource deeds on this (please, it is a waste)


For those who do want to try it the only thing that I can suggest is to apply for beta and pray, that or wait till Thursday and hope it is released on schedule.

Yeah, If you use the 30k deed on TC-EP3 (TC3 was closed a while back) then you can't use it on TC when it returns. Which means either you can't be generous to the testers or do a cross server trade with anyone on there who doesn't play on live and hasn't yet done a cross server trade.


Please, trust me, you don't want to waste those kits.

I know i already posted this somewhere else, but i thing this is a good place to do it too.


Maybe im missing something, but i looked at my schematics and i see that mining lasers and cargo holds use asteroid materials. How are we suppose to mine this materials if we need them to make the tools we need to mine them?

Tractor beams have been added in live at the bottom of the weapons schematics also. It was stated in the Friday Feature article that you will be given "test" versions of all the equipment you need when you attempt to do the Mining quest on Kashyyyk. Once you get a Y-8 with the largest cargo hold then you can start gathering asteroids by the bunches.

It appears that everything that is in place for space mining. Shipwrights have new schematics. Every sector of space have asteroids floating about that can be mined. There are mining stations scattered throughout the galaxy. Kyshyyyk even appears on the hyperspace map.


However, in order to craft all these new schematics you need asteroid resources. To mine the asteroids floating in space, you need to start the quest that will teach you how to mine asteroids, which starts on Kyshyyyk or in the Kyshyyyk system. Finally, you can't jump to Kyshyyyk--it just plain won't let you.

I'm wondering this too afterlast night I auto pilot in Lok system to this massive Orgometalic Asteroid and start wondering. So I check our new schems and theres alot. But the mining laser and tractor beams and everything else new for that matter seemed to require Asteroid resource to begin with, sothe question is, where to start?

Well i just got all but 1 of the space rescources, made mineing lasers, tractor beam, and winglets for my kimo (not master pilot yet with my shipwright). Lasers are (VERY) low power considering MKIII are lvl 7 max is 1800's.


KIMO load out


weapon 1: MINING LASER
weapon 2: MINING LASER
weapon 3: Tractor Beam
Lasers are very low mass around the 6k mark resources were 500/500/1000/1000 on oq and that is the only stat. expermintation went into damage both max and min.


(Elite Gauss mass 250k, Damage experimented out to 2500- 4800,
vs Shield .7
vs Armour .27
speed .35
energy was in the very low 30's
placed it on a guildies POB ship rather nice.



Winglets (top of wing about 1/3 from center line tilted out at about 45deg, serve no purpose but to add to your ships looks, no mass either).


Missing Silistric <SP> astroid and i can make the cargo bay. If anyone on chilly has that resource i'm willing to work out some kinda trade so i can make at least 1 cargo bay.
