Yeah, that's 14k with WO3 and after the 25% reduction. However my guns are far from average. I use three RE'd level 10s that are each about 3000-4800 with .8/.8 vs shields/armor. I realize that's a lot of overkill for PvP right now, but since PvP fights are so infrequent, I spend most of my time in deep space hunting NPCs inbetween PvP fights, and running a triple level 10 setup lets me cut through the NPCs like they're made of paper. I should also add that when I use all three of those level 10s I have to go without armor, since all together they use 134k mass, which is 70% of my ship's total mass. So while its true that I have a garaunteed one-shot kill against anyone, my defenses aren't nearly as high as they could be.

As far as weather or not we need more PvP damage reduction, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. However I think we can both agree that WO3 definately needs to be fixed, and that the MP ships definately need to be beefed up. What I'd like to have happen is for the new Pilot Coorespondant to organize some larger PvP events for the purpose of testing out different damage reduction amounts. This could be accomplished without any assistance from the devs simply by having all the participants use pre-selected guns that simulate different reduction amounts.

I can agree to disagree, however I think after this "revelation" about your equipment, myself and everybody else can agree one one thing. You only stand to gain from PvP reduction, you will become harder to kill, while you still one shot everybody else. The "nobody becomes invincible" thread while may not becoming "invincible" you will become far stronger than an average light fighter, as a glancing blow, even with the reduction you want, will spell thier certain doom, where they have to hit you 2 or 3 times more now to take you down. There's 2 sides to the PvP reduction camp, those that don't know how to dogfight with 1 shot kill rules, and those that have uber gear that want to make everybody else weaker, to press thier advantage. Now we know where you stand.

I'll admit that a further PvP reduction would benefit myself, but that's only because I fly a heavy fighter most of the time. By the same token, those who side with keeping PvP damage where it is can be accused of doing so only because they want to maintain the advantage that light fighters currently have. Also, as I stated in the previous post, my ship's guns aren't exactally average. I don't think its fair to leave all the other heavy fighters gimped just so that pilots in light fighters who put zero effort into getting a decent gun can still be competetive. Also, as I stated earlier, in order to have the massive firepower I have on my heavy fighter, I have to go without armor. If the damage reduction was changed from 25% to 50%, sure, I'd still be able to one-shot most fighters, but by the same token, anyone in a two-gun fighter would still be able to one-shot a ship like mine. Even an a-wing pilot, if he put in effort similar to what I did in aquiring good components, and put together a low-mass level 10 gun, would have the potential to one-shot.

So you think firepower should be the deciding factor in space combat? Speed and handling should count for nothing? It took me over a month to put together the engine and booster I currently have in my ship. How's that for effort? We finally get a facet of the game where real honest-to-goodness skill can be the deciding factor, and people want to go and fork it all up. Learn how to fly.

Where did I say it should be all about firepower? In one of my previous posts I specifically stated that "The quality of your engine, shields, armor, capacitor, reactor, and droid interface still come into play. It makes no sense that guns should be treated differently." If you'd actually read through the entire thread you would have seen that. As for you putting together a good engine, good for you.Ifyou put in the effort to put together a good engine, then you should be rewarded. And right now I think we can all agree that a nice engine counts for a lot in PvP. However, the point I was trying to raise is that the same isn't true for a good gun. When even light fighters can get one-shotkills with mediocre guns, it makes it pointless to try and put together good guns.If you want to keep it where light fighters can still get one-shot kills, fine, do that, but then go ahead and increase the manueverabiliy and decrease the hit-size of all the heavy fighters. If you don't do that, then you can never say that dogfights are truely about skill, sincethe pilot of one fighter in the duel is being handicapped by the system.

Well I guess I'll start playing JTL again then. Hope there's some decent PvP on eclipse in deep space.
