I hope there's some way to balance out the higher mass ships. Make it so they're slower, or take longer to execute pilot commands, perhaps.
But here's my question (semi-related): why put in this prequel stuff when you can do OT content instead. For example, those super battle droid on the corvette could have been IG droids.
with that out of the way, i have another question: why has everyone forgotten the tie hunter from rebel strike? It has a hyperdrive, folding wings, torpedoes, and looks fast standing still. And yes, it is feasible in this timeline.

Ouch someone mentioned V-wing as a possible new craft ..
They would have to add atmospheric flight first
- as i remember, V-wings were atmospheric craft only, added to rebel forces as a replacement for the T-47 speeders (aka snowspeeders).
They debuted shortly before the Dark Empire, just like E-wings.
That's just a no-go for a V-wing.
U want a V-wing, vote for Atmospheric flight engine

The fighter is from Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
You have a problem with 'em, talk to George Lucas, not SOE.

Look back at the last great star wars flight sim, X-wing Alliance. They took so many of the established ships from the movies and the RPG and novels for use in the game. Get some of the Totally Games staff to come over to work on JTL. These Wing Commander guys need help from the real space sim pro's.

Forum necrophilia, yet.
Eh, I agree adding fins to existing designs to make them 'new' is a little silly...and I'd still like to know what the hell a 'strake' is, perhaps it's a perfectly good aeronautical/astronautical term, what would I know? Though if I've got more ship slots now (haven't tested it to know for sure), may's well have more ships to slide into 'em. 'Mmm, difficult course, I'll use my 9-iron--err, my red Interceptor...'
