My favorite joystick is the Logitech Force 3D. Very comfortable to hold for long periods of time, easy access buttons (7 buttons, including trigger and an 8-way hat switch), beautiful force feedback (the main reason I got it) and it has 3 axises. Pretty cheep too, I think it cost me 60 USD at Compusa.

yeah its a great stick. i think that why devs used it at Comic Con and i think at Fan Fest as well.

You've covered the ones I like best at least. As far as I've experienced, the Sidewinder 3D Pro is one of the best standard joysticks around (even as old as it is) and I personally like my Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. Both controllers have 8 buttons, HAT switch, 3 axis, and a throttle control - the only difference being that one's shaped a bit more to conform to a right-hand than the other. The Precision line is pretty much the successor to the 3D line, so I'd imagine they're about the same.

Just don't get the original Sidewinder Forcefeedback Pro. It had a shift switch which let you double your buttons... but you knew when it was on and it took up a square foot for its base.

As for me... I'll be using my trusty X-box controller (smaller one) with a USB adapter (you can find them on E-bay for less than $10)

I have a Gravis BlackHawk Digital, I know alot have said they are kinda bad, but I downloaded new drivers for it and all the bs problems are (from what I experenced) gone. I used to play Midnight Club 2, at random times all the buttons would press from a lag problem between the computer and the joystick, and I would end up flying into a wall because my NOS button would be hit along with a few other buttons that dident help. Now it has not f***ed up sence. Also the buttons run from a cord comeing out of the base and into the side of the stick, insted of going through the bottom where most ware and tear come from.

I read somewhere that there's going to be a joystick made specificly for JtL. Is this true?

I doubt it. hardware is rarely made for a MMO especially JTL is basically a simple space sim. How much special hardware do y ou need besides a joystick, gamepad or your keyboard/mouse. Now if this stick your talking about has a button called "fix game" then hell yeah i'll buy that sucker. But i really really really really really doubt Lucas Arts or SOE are developing a JTL stick, its just not nessesary to be honest when the market is flooded with good sticks.

I've got the Attack 3 from Logitech.

Works very well with X-Wing Alliance and TIE Fighter.

I was wondering if you folks could help me. I have a rather small hand (even though I am in my late 20's my hand is smaller than some kids' hands). As such I was thinking about going with an evo, but still have CH lust. Does anyone with a small hand fly with a CH? I have yet to be able to find ch products in retails stores so I can't try it out myself and do not want to drop that kind of cash on something that is going to hurt/be to be for my hand. Any advice on these two sticks or other suggestion for us finger lenght challenged folks would be appreciated.

I like my logitech 3d digital extreme. Payed about $15 bucks for it on discount and it has worked beautifully for 2 1/2 years. It has as many buttons as I can ever be bothered to remember and use ~7-8, the hat switch for views and the cool twist handle that usually controls a rudder. The throttle is located off to the left of the stick and is pretty easy to use and access while in combat. Over-all not the best stick on the market but probably the best value.

I've been looking at the sitek x45 for quite some time now, but never really had a game to justify buying an $80 joystick untill now. and ofcourse, now they decide to release that sweet looking x52. I've seen it on a few euro sites already. pre-order of course, scheduled for an october release. Its going for about 100 euros. or like $180. who, besides me ofcourse is planning on dishing out $180? just curious
