Thread: People with JTL should get RotW free

Not really a big deal. Nearly any game out there that came out months ago is gonna be dirt cheap. Kinda like computer systems, in general.

I was set on getting JTL because I wanted to fly in space.
I not nearly as set on Wookies or Ep3 fighters or even mining.

i call this expansion

a new way to make money

i say 75% or peaple will buy this expansion to see if they can get any source of new ways to win money

other 25% will be bh/jedi comunity, jedi will start buying it to be in safe place of Bh, so they dont get attacked,

but after a while BH will get mad and start buying the new planet to hunt jedis

Dyslexia, foreign language, plenty of reasons for bad grammar. As posts go, it had punctuation and capatalization and only onegrammar/spelling error. Then/than or there/they're/their type of things are pretty hard if english isn't your mothertongue. Sadly, more often then not it are the native speakers that butcher the language.

As for the contents of the post. I've bought JTL, I knew it would get cheaper in the future. I might have guessed it would be included in another expansion. I've paid for it to play it now, I'll probably pay for RotW to play it upon release. No point to complain about it. Early adopters are always the ones to pay the most ($500 videocards anyone?)

Expansions are needed to bring the game back on the shelves in the stores. MMO's need an influx of new players. It's not cashing in on the popularity of the movie. It's called good marketing and keeping the business viable for a sustained period of time. Why spend a million on advertising when people are basically willing to pay to watch a 2 hour advertisement.

i agree, i have 3 accounts, i payed well over $200 for SWG and JTL, plus i pay $45 a month, and they still want me to cough up $60+ for an expansion that people who dont have jtl will get that free with it...

I'm going to say no.

This is not how business works. You bought JTL to play JTL. You will need to buy Rage of the Wookies to play RotW. If they decide to give JTL away for free, it's their decision. I personally bought JTL last week, AFTER the announcement for Rage of the Wookies. I bought it because I want to play JTL, not because I want to play future expansions.

Does anyone really think that ROTW is a true expansion?

It is 1) an excuse to bill you for the work they have been puting in on the combat upgrade. And it is 2) an exploitation of Ep3's release date. Afterall, SOE had to release something this May.

It's not fair. With all of the complaining being done though I think over 90% of the people that posted here are still gonna end up buying it though. SOE knows this as well. Like all expansions, you don't have to buy it. You'll just not be able to compete with those that did. It's a common ploy, look at the "new" ships. For the most part the same ones we have now with better stats. A few truely new ones, yes, but the point is if you don't buy it you'll be behind the power curve compared to the people who shelled out the bucks. Sad, but true. Some SOE marketting guy got a bonus this year for sure.

"Basically, once you see the inner workings of the Dev team you realize their game model is really just grind and stall. Make the players grind and grind so they keep paying and when there are problems stall stall stall so they keep paying waiting for fixes. Really...all the cores that quit recently are the ones that have figured this out."

Its hard work for these games and all, leave it be. A reward in game for players who have both would be nice though

Now that's a hell of a deal. It should attract quite a few new customers. Of course now that you've posted this information, the people who agree with the topic of this thread are going to be all the more pissed off that they're paying full price for the expansion. To that effect, let me just say this, "If you don't like paying retail price for these things, then I suggest you wait half a yearand buy them as a set. That way, when you finally do start using them, you're lagging behind everyone else in the features they provide."

To me its not so much of a complaint over them making a bundle pack. Bundle packs happen all the time I dont mind those. Its that in this case they are charging me for JTLS again. I mean damn JTLS came outonly a few months ago. And now they are releasing this adventure pack download an making me pay 25 dollars only because it includes JTLS. Something I have already payed for. When Everquest makes an expansion they dont make you buy the previous one again. So in my personal opinion there should be a cheaper discount version available to veteran players that have JTLS. I mean afterall if it was'nt for us they would'nt have been running for 2 years anyway. They sure as hell wont get enough new customers to replace the hardcore fans they have now. So why not treat us with some respect.

Yeah, I agree. The 29.99 boxed version that includes bothSWG and the JTL expansion is for new players. I'm fine with that. People who have the originalSWGbut not JTL gets a $5 discount when they purchase the digital download. Now it would only be fair if an additional discount of $10or $15 would begiven to those thathave JTL already enabled.

ok, so the ppl that think we shouldn't get a discount are using the arguement that it will bring more ppl into space and it's to bring back old players and subscribe new players. I highly doubt it, where areall these new players from the original JTL?NOWHERE.I guess these same ppl suggest that the ppl that have been dishing out $15.00 a month and buying the original JTL don't mean nothing to SOE either.

Is it my problem that some ppl didn't wanna buy the original JTL. No, so why dosome ppl get stuff for free that others had to pay for...not a year ago, but only 6 months ago.Obviously JTL didn't bring more ppl back to the game. And it's pretty much been garbage since it came out with nothing but empty space and near to impossible missions to solo.

I'm not saying give up RotW for free, but atleast give us veterans that have bought the original JTL a $10 discount or allow use to d/l RotW without having to buy JTL to wipe our butts with. I for one wouldn't have a problem with it if JTL was maybe a year old, but to give it away for free when it's only been out for 6-7 months is just wrong.
