Check the READ ME FIRST sticky up at the top of the forum here (Then the link for Guide to Aurilian Quests). It will list which skills you can unlock per phase along with who you need to talk to, what the rewards are, etc.

Phase 4 has the ranged speed quest. If you are jedi, I don't believe you can surrender another branch to pick this one up, but i'm not poitive about this.

You can drop FS skills if you have 7 branches filled , in other words replace it with the one you want to drop before hand not sure if it can be done as a jedi though cos they cant trade xp.

We are not going anywhere. I do not for one minute believe that the devs have some conspiracy to get rid of us. Stat migrations are NOT our defining ability. It was something we never even asked for and certainly didn't want to do. We took a LOT of heat for suddenly being the only avenue to do something that had previously been something anyone could do for themselves. I'm glad they're going away, frankly.

I LIKE being a luxury profession. I like being someone that people don't need, but seek out anyway. If I were given a choice of doing a stat migration and getting a million credits for it, or doing a makeover and getting a hundred, I would happily do the makeover. It's more challenging, more fun and it's WHY I became an ID.

ID is not going away. The next time I read someone freaking out over this, I'm gonna go nuts.

QFE!!

And if someone just HAS to post another stupid 'the sky is falling' post, please put it in one of the other idiotic 'sky is falling' threads so we don't have to bother looking at it. Gawd! We're a pretty helpful bunch, and this thread looked like someone had a logical ID question.

ops thats me ur talkening about, i do somtimes see the sky falling.... but it always flys back up. life has ups and downs. srry i do cause some trouble on the bosts.

It isn't just you, but yes, you're one of them, and you need to stop it. This is a COMBAT upgrade. With the exception of the loss of stat migrations (and that's really more of a side effect from all the HAM changes), ID will have no changes. NONE! Because this is a - that's right!- COMBAT UPGRADE.

The sky is not falling. ID is not going anywhere. I'm not gonna say it again.

If you are IDing for money, you should surrender your ID skills.

ID because you enjoy it or stop taking customers from those that do.

Well yes and no. I think every profession deserves to get paid. Those who sell at cost and give out services for free are doing a disservice to those who cannot just hop on an alt and run missions for creature-of-the-week.

Don't do anything you HATE in a game - hey, it's a game, and you deserve to enjoy it. But just because you enjoy your job doesn't mean you shouldn't earn a living doing it. I don't enjoy ID any less when I get paid.

I am Master Marksman, Master Carbineer, Master Pilot, and Master Image Designer.

Maybe that means I make decent money, maybe it doesn't. But I have found that most customers (on Bria at least) are generous and tend to tip over what other IDs charge. I have had a couple who didn't tip at all, but I do not enjoy the session any less.

And repeat customers are more valuable than forcing 10k for nothing more than a simple hair style.

My ID services will always be free, if that puts other MIDs out of the tent...what can I say other than 'competition sucks'?

I ID because I need a break from making things die, and I love character design.

I remember when I got my very first ID.

September 2003. Moenia. A master ID had a long line standing out in front of the starport, under the light. (pre ID window days, needed to find a good light source to see what you were doing.) She was charging 6k per change. I was still just a novice tailor barely making ends meet. 6k was a lot of credits to me back then. Iwas happy to pay6k for a new hairstyle. And every other person in that line was too. And she had a looooong line of customers within minutes of arriving at the starport. She only shouted once that she was on duty. Word of mouth took care of the rest.

No stat migrations backthen. Just image makeovers. She was making good money that night. People were flying into Moenia just to get ID'd.

I almost never do stat migrations. Even since the timer was reduced. It's inconvenient for me to drop whatever I am doing to meet someone in Bestine or Theed or any of the other salons just for that. And most of the stat mig customers I have ever had do gripe about having to pay for it. Bleh.

I got a tell yesterday politely asking if I wasn't busy could I do a quick makeover for two people. I do makeovers for tips. 20 minutes later I was 150k richer. That is not uncommon at all. Not for makeovers.

Image Designers are not going to fade into history because stat migs are going away. In fact, I predict the "art" of Image Designing will return to it's former fun and social realm. People who enjoy doing it. And make good money at it.

That is exactly the kind of attitude, among others, that causes division in a community too small to be able to afford it. I'm glad you like the profession, but you are not the only person who plays the game. Please have a little respect and thought for your fellow IDs. It's IMPOSSIBLE for them to make money (and I'm sorry, but no matter how much I love ID, I'll be damned if I'm gonna provide a service for free, it's terrible for the economy and my time is valuable to me) if you're standing right next to them offering the exact same thing they're offering, completely free of charge.

Try it for a day, I'm betting the amount of money you take in won't be much different. AND you get more respect from the customers who tip well.
