The latter, as stated by the developers, is the case. Much to my disappointment. I would like a third choice:

Jedi DO NOT get abilities in space but DO suffer xp loss when they die in space.

That would be much more fun.

I'm going to agree with Qwolahn. Screw Jedi. Screw them all. They ruined my game on the ground, and there's not going to be ANY way that they'll do that in space.

Then why not simply have Jedi receive no benefits while in space like you agreed to?

Anything right now may change with beta... but as of right now its number 2. You can't give Jedi a leg up in space seeings as its all twitchy game play. I personally dont think jedi should lose skill in space seeing as they in reality are not acctually useing jedi skills at the time they died. Why should they lose skill points when they died not even useing them?

In space, a jedi is the same as any other man, thus they should face the same consequences as any other man when killed.

i vote 2 also .... we do NOT need jedi in space. there are FAR TOO MANY of them on the ground. if they had powers in space and were more powerful that everyone else, like in the ground game SOE would have to change the name of this game to;

"ALL THEM JEDI.... and some other guys"

kind of a star wars game."

i think its a bad idea giving one group of characeters too much power, because sooner or later the servers become over run with them,

if i was able. i would vote for option 3 ..... oh in a perfect world perhaps....

1, Disolve all but two or three jedi characters per server, if they dont like it TOUGH S**T.

2, Reinstate permadeath

3, Make it VASTLYmore difficultto become a jedi.

4, Leave permadeath enabled in space

ok im done ranting. ive hated the jedi since BEFORE SWG came out, they are cool to see. but im sick of seeing them ALL over the place now. thank the gods thatwith publish 10 the DEV's are making it muchtougher to become a jedi... MWAHAHAHAHA!

The devs have said its number 2.

"Flying against Tycho was probably the most difficult thing I'd ever done, and I had an edge in the Force. What he did, what Wedge did, without being able to use the Force made them far more special than any Jedi. They flew with their heart and brains and their entire being."

Qwolhan is right. No abilities for Jedi in space and no XP loss is the plan at this point.

Well...the ground game has officially become "KOTOR Online" on my server. There are more Jedi hanging out in cantinas now than the average run-of-the-mill Pistoleer or Commando. Giving them an uber-boost in space would just make the expansion into "Jedi Starfighter II".

And of course all the Jedi would be perfectly happy with that arrangement, unfortunately...

Not really, when i take my Jedi into space i expect to suck at much as everyone else. I also expect for players to stop whining about jedi and that they shouldent have powers in space (wich they havent, devs told that already) and start playing the game again instead of complaining about jedi on the forums.
