I'm not for dumbing down AI as you may think. I think it is fine where it is. To get to Master you either have to group or be exceptional. And yes I have had a group on every Tier 3 mission. I didn't say Tier 3 is impossible I quit. It is challenging. And yes in the last mission even my firends got destroyed and they are in Tier 4. The game is fine where it is now. Most people aren't masters. I really hardly see any master pilots so it's not that easy. Which is good. However it does not need to be more difficult. random spawn AI isn't all that challenging. The real fun and hardships is in leveling. I'd be all for really hard challenging master content.

Just don't make it so only a few can ever master. Well I suppose that won't ever be the case since all you being doing is frustrating more people and forcing people into bigger groups which isn't better. I like the game where it is for the most part.

Now now...I never said anything about making it harder. I mean, there are certain missions that could afford to have the challenge cranked up a little bit, but in general, the current level of difficulty is fine.

But I disagree with you when you say there are very few masters. Every pilot I know is either a master, working on tier 4 (which, suprisingly, is a little bit easier than tier 3 because the equipment is so much better), or is done with tier 4 and is just waiting for the vette to pop up. I know several people who are currently working on mastering their 2ndor 3rd squadrons.

Which is why I can't understand all these people complaining about how hard it is. It's not hard at all...if you're willing to WORK with someone every once in awhile.

i like the way jtl is. its not just a grind game where you just make the money and get the xp and you can do anything. it takes a certain amount of skill to fly but even more than that it requires an ability to equip your ship well. right now on starsider my imp pilot is doing stormsquadron after retiring as a black epsilon ace. ive had no trouble solo'ing the dreaded tier3 missions, and i even skipped the tie-int and stuck with the tie/in for all of tier3 until just a few minutes ago when i got my first tier4 box and pulled out my advanced ( i LOVE that ship).

in jtl you cant just put on some 80% dmg reduction shield, get your space buffs, and go kill space-quenkers to grind out master pilot in a couple days. you have to learn to fly, gather ship loot, know what ship loot to use, and know what droid programs to run. or if you are too stupid to learn and/or dont have the time, you can get others to help you. its less about putting in the time and more about figuring it out.

the hardest part by far is getting all the right ship parts, and if you are willing to go kill quenker lairs for a few days (which is about as entertaining as watching paint dry) then you should have no problem grinding out duty missions for space loot.

So what you're saying is, EVERYBODY, regardless of skill, should be able to grind pilot all the way to master, eh?

JTL is FAR from super hard. Some people are just better atspace sim games than others. I know I'm not that good at them myself, but with only one or two wingman, I was able to complete all my missions. Then, 5 or 6 of us went after the vette for master at the same time, and with that many, it blows up real easy.

Are you even paying attention to the complaints people have? People should be able to master their profession! Its totally retarded to set up the game system so people have to waste time begging others to spend several hours helping them to master their professions. Use commonse sense for a minute! Did anyone have to beg for help to master their ground profession? No! I Mastered BH on my own. I probably would have never mastered it if the JTL retarded forced grouping was implemented for the ground game. I have no problem with forced grouping for the high end content BUT mastering your profession is NOT HIGH END CONTENT! Unless the devs implemented the forced grouping difficulty to cover the fact that there is no high end content. Their policy will backfire in the long run.

If you buy the best equipment for your level you can solo almost everything in JTL, get RE'ed parts that are extreme then you have a better chance.

also the ship must be tailored to you play style, the bad part is most ship wrights make what they think people will prefer and often do not have less popular setups on their vendors.

I had a person in the guild i am in that was having problems with their Tier 3 mission, when I had them give me a run down of their ships components they had a mismatched parts from tier 1-3 on their ship some of which were far below what they really needed esp the engine and Shields.

Once I made all new stuff, some with his flying style in mind he was able to solo the problem mission.

Some things that were done are stupid though such has having Tier 5 spawns around tier 3 missions is somewhat stupid on the Devs part.

Let me get this straight. Did they starter of this thread start a Imp toon and levelled it all they way up to master? There are tons of players who stopped trying to master their pilot professions because of the difficulty and lack of help from other players.

I second that!
