And this is new...how?

Have any of you ever looked at how they package EQ on the shelves now? It's just about impossible to buy a single copy of EQ, or any single expansion, by itself anymore. Nearly every single pack you see on the shelves has at least one expansion pack with it, most have more.

And this really isn't unique to SOE, either. Games that have expansions almost ALWAYS package 'em together. It increases the amountof revenue they make, as the packaging and CD's don't really cost that much.

Nothing new, folks. Move along. Everything is as normal.

This is when you buy hte full game and EQ is OLD eq Plat is all ofhte expantiuons except the last 2 and if you buy this last expantion yopu dont get all the others free.

Yeah but the question is why should the Die Hard, Elite, monthly paying, JTL buying on release customers who have invested more time and money in this game pay out more then someone that has yet to drop a freaking dime on this game?

Here it is we pay for JTL and get a "underdeveloped expansion" that was supposed to have a planet included in its release. They remove the planet, maybe to meet a deadline or so and relrease the planet near Episode 3 release and call it an expansion?

Has anyone seen the fact that they are including the CU, armor and weapons as part of this expansion?

I for one look forward to anything that will expand this game (because we are in so much need of content) but I think its such bullcrap that people who have dedicated themselves to this game and pay a monthly fee every month without fail is the ones that get some what shortchanged at the end of it all.

They want to save subscriptions yet they pull crap like that, its no wonder the fans are yelling and screaming. I for one defended the release of the expansion but seeing this type of seedy negotiation to bring in new subscriiptions and screw those that have already droped dimes on it, i find it very much a turn off.

Once again everyone is assuming that those are the FINAL plans and its not gonna change. Granted there are lots of valid points made on why they shouldnt do some things. Just wait and see what the offical notes say that SOE will release soon.

I bought the expansion the first day it was released. I think that sony should make it so that if you have not purchase JTLS then you can't play on the new planet. I also believe that you should not recieve a free copy of JTLS just because you digital downloaded it. I am a little upset that I have to pay $50 dollars for JTLS and ROTW and yet someone who has not purchase JTLS get it for free with ROTW for $25.00! I just wasted my money...this is not cool at all.

the way I see it: They make us believe that the CU is completely free, but then they let us pay for an expansion conatinig stuff that should have been there with JTL, so actually, we pay for the CU and the "JTL Extras"

Well technically the CU is free if you read the notes. I have to search for them again. The CU is free, its the fact that they list it as one of the items in the expansion pack to fill up the emptiness or the fact that it dosent have that much to offer.

People that know this game knows what the NEW COMBAT SYSTEM means and NEW ARMOR AND WEAPONS....

We as paying customers have read the notes and know we are looking for the CU. Its the fact that they list it as content to those who havent even seen the game as of yet. Those who dont know better look and say, "Oh we cant miss out on that."

Meanwhile back in the game.... paying customers who have starved for content know the difference and look at this as a real crooked deal that we have to dish out more duckets then the newer customers.

In fact this new product should be free of charge! They owe us this for removing the planet from the JTL expansion pack!

I'm one of the people who preordered JTL, wanted to get into beta, but didn't, stupid thing wouldn't let me.

I heard of RoW, and I'm excited, awesome new planets and ships and stuff. Then I see for digital download you get JTL free with it. That is completely unjust to those of us that paid 30 bucks for JTL! I expect RoW for free, I'll buy it anyway, but thats 30 bucks I would still have if I had waited until this May to get JTL.

Perhaps they might work out a deal where we can use our proof of purchase to at least get a discount or something?

Yep this is most likely thier reasoning for charging the full 25 dollar price. But I can tell you right now that if a cheaper version isnt made for people that already own JTLS I wont be getting it. I'll just sit out the next expansion or two an then buy them all for one low price if they want to be like that. Stuff like this just really annoys the hell out of me. Its the samereason I never buy a DVD until the full box set collecters premium ultimate omega too many discs to fit in the box perfect edition comes out.

They should'nt need a proof of purchase. They know who has a JTLS enabled account an who does not. If they wanted they could just give JTLS enabled accounts ROTW access when it comes out free of charge. In fact that would probably be the most fair way to handle the situation. Though I still would'nt mind if I could just buy a cheaperfive dollar version. Because afterallten Planets cost mefifty dollars so one should only cost me five right? See that's just the thing that wrong about this. JTLS isnt being included for "free" its just being added into the total cost. So anyone that has already bought JTLS is basically paying for it twice.

Thank you for saying that...

This was the first thought I had when I read this news. There is no way in hell that SOE cannot see who does and does not have JTL already on thier account. For those that do, this should be at most a $10 download.

Like some others, I too would like to get a hard copy of this too. It'd be nice to not have to sit and wait and wait and wait for it if I ever have to reinstall it in the future.

Sometimes I think they (SOE) just throw out some stuff, see how the forums react to it and then make up thier minds on what to do...

The problem with giving owners of JTL free access to to ROTW is that you can go down to your local game store and buy JTL now for like a fraction of the price of what it was originally costed. I am from the uk but I can now buy JTL for £15 which is half the price of what it was originally. I would suggest that the best thing would be because they know who has it bought and registered JTL then they can tell how long they have had it for. So for any player who has registered it for say 3 months or more then perhaps they can either get ROTW for free or at a discount. To be honest I think even just have 2 optional digital downloads, one for already registered JTL owners at a discount and another for non JTL owners

I love the idea of giving 'veteran' jtl users getting an extra ship slot.

Bought JtL less than a month ago for full price. Wish I'd have waited.
