And this is new...how?
Have any of you ever looked at how they package EQ on the shelves now? It's just about impossible to buy a single copy of EQ, or any single expansion, by itself anymore. Nearly every single pack you see on the shelves has at least one expansion pack with it, most have more.
And this really isn't unique to SOE, either. Games that have expansions almost ALWAYS package 'em together. It increases the amountof revenue they make, as the packaging and CD's don't really cost that much.![]()
Nothing new, folks. Move along. Everything is as normal.

the way I see it: They make us believe that the CU is completely free, but then they let us pay for an expansion conatinig stuff that should have been there with JTL, so actually, we pay for the CU and the "JTL Extras"
Well technically the CU is free if you read the notes. I have to search for them again. The CU is free, its the fact that they list it as one of the items in the expansion pack to fill up the emptiness or the fact that it dosent have that much to offer.
People that know this game knows what the NEW COMBAT SYSTEM means and NEW ARMOR AND WEAPONS....
We as paying customers have read the notes and know we are looking for the CU. Its the fact that they list it as content to those who havent even seen the game as of yet. Those who dont know better look and say, "Oh we cant miss out on that."
Meanwhile back in the game.... paying customers who have starved for content know the difference and look at this as a real crooked deal that we have to dish out more duckets then the newer customers.
In fact this new product should be free of charge! They owe us this for removing the planet from the JTL expansion pack!

They should'nt need a proof of purchase. They know who has a JTLS enabled account an who does not. If they wanted they could just give JTLS enabled accounts ROTW access when it comes out free of charge. In fact that would probably be the most fair way to handle the situation. Though I still would'nt mind if I could just buy a cheaperfive dollar version. Because afterallten Planets cost mefifty dollars so one should only cost me five right? See that's just the thing that wrong about this. JTLS isnt being included for "free" its just being added into the total cost. So anyone that has already bought JTLS is basically paying for it twice.

The problem with giving owners of JTL free access to to ROTW is that you can go down to your local game store and buy JTL now for like a fraction of the price of what it was originally costed. I am from the uk but I can now buy JTL for £15 which is half the price of what it was originally. I would suggest that the best thing would be because they know who has it bought and registered JTL then they can tell how long they have had it for. So for any player who has registered it for say 3 months or more then perhaps they can either get ROTW for free or at a discount. To be honest I think even just have 2 optional digital downloads, one for already registered JTL owners at a discount and another for non JTL owners
