Well If possible is there away to find out what resources will ne needed for the making of shipsand if so is it possible to get them listed as my hoarding of resopurces begins?
In a Fan Fest interview with Cinco Barnes, Cinco says...
Question: I am told that upon entering space for the first time, everyone is going to get a starter ship. Will this be a non-aligned ship?
Cinco indicated that your starter ship will have everything to do with whatever faction you are in at the time you enter space. If you're a declared Imperial, you'll get an Imperial starter ship. If you're a neutral, you'll get a neutral starter ship. "So you're on the ground, and let's say you're an overt Rebel, and now that the space expansion is out, you want to fly a TIE Fighter. That's going to be a problematic situation because the NPC that's going to give you that doesn't want to talk to an overt. And for that matter, he's behind a wall of Stormtroopers and officers and they'd kill you... unless you come in there and clear them out... and then you talk to the guy and 'Not only am I invulnerable, I don't want to talk to you'. So you need to reconcile with the Rebellion, get out of that entirely, be fresh, then come to the Empire and say 'Alright, I'm ready'. Any player, so long as they're not of an enemy faction, will be able to walk up to these NPCs and say 'I'm ready to become a part of the war and let me fly', and those NPCs will let you get into space for that and give you a ship. In the case of each of the three different [Pilot] professions, that does mean a starter craft, and those starter craft will be identified with that NPC [faction] that you're talking to."
I thought Shipwrights were supposed to build all ships?
Ships:
- 15 ships are being released with the expansion
- When you get the expansion you will be given a free basic ship so you can jump into space right away.
- The YT-1300 is the only ship that can carry multiple people at this time. *coughdontcountonitcough*
- There are 4 new professions: Alliance Pilot, Imperial Pilot, Basic Pilot, Shipwright
- At the moment the Pilot professions do not take basic skill points to learn.
1. Moving up in skill boxes requires prestige points (e.g. 450 Imperial prestige) - At the moment Shipwright does take basic skill points, and requires engineering 4.
- It is twitch based.
- Collosion - you can't collide with another player ship and cause DMG. I have read different things about colliding with NPC ships and asteroids.
- There is no atmospheric flight.
- Ships will land and takeoff from starports. You call them from your datapad and load to space.
- You can fly yourself from sector to sector, thus planet to planet.
- If you die in space your ship takes dmg but is not destroyed. You are cloned to the nearest planet, unless you cloned at one of the ships in space.
- Combat flying incurs battle fatigue.
- Joysticks and gamepads will be supported. Thus will force feedback as well.
- There are 10 space sectors.
- Eight sectors are around existing planets (Corellia/Talus combined, Naboo/Rori combined).
- 2 sectors have no planets and are considered deep space.
- There are nebulae and asteroids. Nebulae are more than just scenery; they have effects on ships (I believe I heard they have effect on shields). Asteroids, last I read could be destroyed.
- There is no mineral harvesting in space.
- It is a multi-person ship. When at a starport, everyone in your group will be loaded to the ship when you call it. 20 group person should and probably will fill the YT-1300.
- You can walk around in the YT-1300.
- You can decorate the YT-1300
- 2 people can man the turrets in the YT-1300 for combat.
- 4 people can sit in the cockpit.
- The pilot's chair is radialed between either just sitting or piloting.
- Shipwrights will craftand modify all ships.
- Pilots may beable to modify some of their own
Other:
- No new planets in expansion.
- No player controlled capital ships at expansion.
- Player cannot doc with space stations or capital ships at this time.
- You can loot items off of destroyed ships.
- 2 new species coming, no info on which ones.
