1) Force Shock - Does that lower the opponents defense? it seems like it does! But it says it loweres their state defense. Isnt that something like blind, dizzy, stun etc..

2) Does iniate armor help any? Seems like its worthless now? Maybe it was better before but they did a cilent nerf on it?

Yes on both counts. Shock works nicely, and Innate armor helps still (just not as much as it used to).

so it does lower defense? which would be better then to get number 1 or 2?

Yes, it lowers defense against states. I don't know which is better.... it's like asking which is better, car or truck?

1) lowers defense against state. Haven't seen it lower defense, but I didn't test it out very thoroughly. TBH I haven't really had a hard time getting states to stick. The problem I've had with states is the cost of hitting someone with it.

2) Innate armor (both TK and Jedi) works just like regular armor points. At it's highest value for TKM it works as about 6000 pt armor (about 50% damage reduction). Not sure about highest value for Jedi, but it's around the same (Jedi with Master Defender and Improved Aura does seem to take less damage then a TKM/defense stacked character with Improved CoB). FYI Improved Aura states that it has the same skill results as Improved CoB, and from just general testing (back when I had both Improved CoB and Improved Aura) they seem to have the same effect (though I didn't record anything hard, so it's just observation).

As to which is better... this is more of a prefernce/playstyle thing. Not to mention that with just the two skills being looked at with no values and not knowing the rest of your template it is difficult to say which is better.

First off, which is the easiest Squadron to master? Faction is unimportant, but I already know that Imperial Squadrons are feckin hard from experiance. Im not interested in fighters, I just want to move up to a Y-8 as fast as possible on my new character.

Secondly, are there any cutaways or floorplans of the Y-8 interior like those of the Decimator that are floating around? I need to know what the interior layout is like, but you dont get a proper sense of perspective from screenshots.

"Easiest" is very relative. Any one you do is going to be a lot of work. I've found that CorSec was the one I went through fastest, though.

Why are you after the Y-8, by the way? Not such a good ship for mining, despite the name.

If you're on Valcyn shoot me a tell in-game and I'll take you up in mine.

1. Can nightsister armor layers be used in RIS? I have 4 that say +20

2. Are pre-CU feathers still useable?

1. Yes, they can. NS Layers go into battle segments, which are used for R.I.S.

2. Yes, they are usuable, but right now you can't see the health bonus until you make the feathered appearance enhancement.
