Just want to point out that at no point anywhere have I ever seen Jedi asking for this. None what so ever. We have no idea where the Dev's came up with the idea for a Jedi starfighter but it most certainly was not us as a community. The others, wellyou got us there, but wholeheartedly not us that asked for a Jedi starfighter.

People are annoyed because they feel (rightly, I think) that the ground game should not effect the space game. Do Master Pilots get Master Pilot Pistol certs that no one else gets? Nope. So why should Jedi - or, for that matter, any ground prof - get any space certs? Because they're "Jedi?" If that's all you can give as an argument then you've seriously got to reconsider your perspective on the game.
Some people have been saying things ilke "why aren't you annoyed that Rebels can't fly Imperial craft?" etc etc etc. That is, hands down, the stupidest argument you can give. It's like saying, "why aren't you complaining that riflemen can't use carbines?" Obviously a REBEL pilot is going to fly REBEL ships. However, why should a Jedi be the only one to use a ship, even if it is a Jedi ship? There is no Jedi Pilot class, so why should there be a Jedi pilot cert? Within the context of the system that has been in place since launch, a Jedi-only starfighter makes no sense and, more then anything else, is an example of SOE pandering to the Jedi population.
When you take players who have been here since launch and who never even considered becoming a Jedi merely because they didn't want to watch as Jedi grinders get perk after perk after perk, you need to understand that they're going to feel, justifiably, annoyed. Begging for another special perk that completely throws the system up to this point out the door is not going to go over well.
search the forums you will find them. They were asking for it In beta.
Hmmm. Well tbh, I have not seen any post recently regarding us wanting our own ship. In fact, most of the posts I am seeing now regarding a Jedi only ship are emphatically asking the devs not to do this for Jedi. We are hated already, no denying that. Many in our community do not want a Jedi specific ship. Sure there are a few out there that will, that can't be avoided. And Beta was Beta. Things have changed since then.

The devs have said it in the past and just recently that they want to integrate space and the ground game iin the comming months/year.
It makes sense to me to make a Jedi or force sensitive only ship and I bet a lot of bounty hunters wouldn't be upset about it either when they allowed to hunt bounties in space... It would make it a lot easier to pick out your Mark if you knew what ship they were flying in.As far as balance goes we have to wait and see.
My guess is it will lack offensive power and it's best defense will be it's maneuverability but easier to hit then an Awing.
It seems that the integration they're talking about are ground/space missions, space/ground GCW interaction, space resources used for ground gear, etc. That's all very different then what you can do in the ground game affecting what you can do in the space game. A ground prof only space cert is just that, the ground game directly affecting what you can do in the space game.
Personally I don't really like the way the certs system is set up. It seems foolish to me that I can fly a YT 1300, but put me in the cockpit of a Z 95 and I'll be all, "duh? How make ship go?" I really think that anybody should have been able to get certified on any ship using a different system. Since that's where I'm coming from, you can understand why I don't like the idea of ground prof-specific ships.
If that is the type of integration they're talking about, though, starting with a Jedi-exclusive ship would not be the best PR move in the world.
Another thing to consider is that they said it would only be available to very experienced players - that could mean that we're looking at a two-year vet reward ship.
I looked over the Jedi forum and they're not begging for a Jedi only cert, I was wrong there. Don't think they'd mind, though

The B-wing and A-wing fighter arent in production for almost 2 more years in the current time line so you could say the rebels are getting special treatment by giving them those things.
The fact your acting like a fool comparing force run 3 etc shows that you simply have a deep seated hatred for jedi. I dont see How having 1 more ship option in space is gonna bother your gameplay or anyone elses. Hell i can fly up in space for 8 hours and im lucky to ever see another player let alone worry about what ship he is flying.
Time to roll out the Tie Defender!

Actually the A-wing was in the battle of yavin, so it was in this timeline. The b-wing however was not in production yet.

OK, so Jedi get a Jedi Starfighter because... they're Jedi...
So should only Bounty Hunters have the Firespray - because Boba/Jango used one?
Should only Smugglers have the YT-1300 - because Han used one?
NO!
The great thing about JTL is, everyone is on equal footing regardless of ground profession. The great thing about ships is, there is no 'I win' button - each ship has its pro's and con's. You have the super-fast and manuverable A-wings, TIE Advanceds, etc, and the slow but packs-a-punch Y-wings and TIE Bombers. You're not given a one-size-fits-all-ship clone (think composite) - it's to do with your personal preferences.
So Jedi shouldn't get a ship that negates this wonderous thing. And besides, its years out of date. Moreso than the Z95! So it will have to be worse, eh?
just because it's old doesnt mean it would be worse
all depends on the parts used, old parts are bad- current is good.
another example would be like having a 64Ford Mach 1 but with present day parts
What's an ARC fighter?

Most people are afraid that if Jedi get a inch in space,..they will be given a mile later on. I am not a Jedi, never want to be one. I don't think that the Jedi Starfighter 2 will be Jedi only, but it if it is so be it. The main thing that people including myself don't want to see is Jedi Force powers used in space.
So go ahead,..add the Jedi Starfighter and if that screenshot is it..thats the worst design I've ever seen. I pretty much looks like they took parts from exsisting ships and slapped them together. The Scyk fighter body turned backwards...the TIE fighter cockpit and solar panels.
Maybe they should add the naboo starfighter while they are at it...
I kinda like the design, obviously it's the precursor to the TIE
and what's wrong the N-1? It's one of my favorite ships from the movies.
