That aspect of it has to be my favorite part of JTLS, no boring trainers

Its mission based. You have all these fun missions and you gain skills that way

It’s not really mission based you do missions to unlock the trees like the village you still need to grind out xp.

Tier 1 skills cost 7500 XP each. Thats killing 75 Tier 1 mobs per skill, as each Tier 1 mob gives 100 XP
All the following applies to Tier 1, as that is the one I know the best:
After the first 4 missions in a Tier, you will be allowed to train 1 skill box for free. Then you're given an open ended 'Duty' mission, either destroy or escort. For a destroy mission you fly into space and are given a waypoint to check out. You fly to the waypoint and are attacked by a wave of mobs. Once the wave is destroyed, you are given a cash reward and another waypoint to check out. With each waypoint the number of mobs increases. After every 2 or 3 regular tier 1 waypoints you will go to a waypoint with a tier 3 mob to destroy. They give 1280 XP. This carries on untill either you get bored or you get enough skill points for another box and decide to go train. With a player-made TIE you can do the whole of tier 1 in about 4 or 5 hours.

Yes
You have to follow missions to get the XP from killing ships.
THe NPC will only train you when you are ready for the next phase of the tier. NOT when you have the XP.
Example:
YOu have 7500 XP at tier 1 per box.
The cap will appear to let you be trained in several boxes at once.
HOWEVER...You get only 1 box trained then have to do another mission. Then you can train 1 more.
YOu have to train by tier, not tree. (all level 1 skills before you move on.)
There will be no capping XP and power grinding thru the profession like we are used to.
YOu HAVE to follow the mission giver, so this means it will take a couple days before we start seeing Master Pilots flying around in their YT-1300s, Novathingies and the Imp MP Ship. (not caring to look up their names right now, and I really don't care if someone corrects me. lol)
Some people will hate this, others love it. I happen to be one of the latter.

Just to add one more thing to what Arg0nus stated. Once you train a box it is like the other professions, that xp is used up so you will need to gain more xp to train in the other boxes in that tier, unless you just spent a long time in space and gained enough xp that after each mission you still had enough left over for the next box. You get my point.

Some tiers have more 'free boxes' than others.
Tier3, so far, for example:
2222 imperial pilot.
I completed the first tier3 mission. When I go to him, he trained me (2322 imp pilot). The boxes cost about 200kxp (If I'm remembering right). After he trained me to 2322, I still had enough to train a skill box (but no option to do so).
Next mission completed. He trained me 3322 imp pilot, and I still hadn't used my xp.
I presume if/when I finish mission 3 (it's been kicking my rear), I'll either get yet another free box, or be able to finally spend some xp.

1 tier 1 skill is free, and all tier 3 skills are free as well as Ace.
1 million experience sounds like a lot at lower levels but destroy duties make it quite quick.

i am merchant xxx1 and i used the add vendor to global search. Left for work this morning came back and i couldnt find my stuff off the bazaar as being listed. So i went back, and did the vendor option vendor search enable again, went to a bazaar and saw them finally show up. my question is, if i am logged off does my vendor no longer show up on the bazaar and do i have to enable search everytime i login the game and stay logged in? or does the listing stay in the bazaar search even when your logged off?

It should stay even when you're logged off. You shouldn't have had the option to enable your vendor for this if it was already enabled. The option should have been to remove it from vendor listings - not to enable it. Once you enable it, it should stay enabled until you disable it.

The option to enable / disable the vendor searchs are both there regardless of whether or not the vendors are enabled (or not). At least in my case. I have a couple of vendors that had both options listed, and even after I listed them on the global search, I still had the option to enable it. I disabled them and the disable button was still available.. so *shrug*. If you do status, it will tell you if its enabled or not.

more then likely the problem is that your vendor isnt loaded into world.
vendors 'sleep' each night and have to be awoken every day ( to show on overhead map for those who register them)
it is possible that the bazaar is doing same thing.

LOL I hit the enter key before I typed anything so had to edit this.
What I was going to ask is this.
Tonight I was hunting Greater Sludge Panthers on Talus in TCEP3.
I go prone and use kneeshot and it snares them, then I use snipershot on them and get one good hit in.
By that time they are on top of me so I decide what the heck I'll try this new rifle butt slap thing-a-majingy skill.

Mind you I am still prone when the skill fires off and it actually knocked the critter on it's can!
Are we supposed to be bale to use this while prone?
