So, after your test you found out it was client-side rather than server-side, what are you expecting the devs to do now?

Even though its client side, many people are experiencing that exact same issue, so its not PC specific. This was working a week ago. Something in the code changed that. Nothing on my PC has changed since then except for the code they pushed out. So, yes I do expect the devs to take up this issue.

I can explain a couple of problems mentioned on this thread. The shield %age being stuck on say 20%. If you hit a ship continually from behind. You will only deplete 50% MAX of the shield level shown on your target. This is because you have removed the REAR shield completely. However the ship still has full shields at the front. The reason why you get the shield down to 20% is because by leading a target you will be hitting them from the FRONT. Obviously when dogfighting you can get more off directly behind.

TOP/Bottom invulnerability : This is not so much a bug as more a contentious issue. The top and bottom being invulnerable was coded in during beta. Added in other words if memory serves me correctly. Can't remember the reason WHY but it is something that I believe the DEV's can alter if they wanted to. (Could anyone from the powers that be confirm at all the top/bottom invulnerability and whether it is a bug, figment of peoples imaginations - What am I drinking here?!? - or a game design?

Missiles not doing damage : This happens because of the above mentioned invulnerability areas on a ship. Missiles are effected by this as well.

NB: We also have top/bottom invulnerabilty as well.

Targeted ships taking no damage. This is something which I have encountered and resolved by retargetting something else(Either hit escape to remove target or cycle off of ship and back again.) The target then begins to take damage.

One thing I had in beta which I thought was an issue with ping rate due to being in the UK is that intermittantly my engine drops instantly to 0 then accelerates at its normal rate back to whatever speed it was initially set. Does anyone else experience this? I've lost count of the amount of times I have been blasted to smitherines because a target behind me has just had me stop instantly in front of it.

i've noticed that some of my hits do no damage. Sometimes hitting tier 3 hutt ships repeatedly with now dmh then all of a sudden my hits start doing damage. don't know whats wrong with it

I was getting way frustrated by this top/bottom invunerability also. While the enemy space punk is flying loopties around you, and you are filling him full of plasma, it only APPEARS that he is taking hits and making a little frying sound.

I just realized last night that if you target in the leading reticle (or slightly behind) that it seems to hit much more frequently, even though it seems you are aiming way off.

i have noticed the same thing. the lead recticle is NOT accurate the further it gets away from the ship.

Harsh. But my blunt friend is right. I don't think this is the same bug. The top/bottom bug usually affects everyone (I think). This is just a select group.

I have noticed that at times I can shoot an enemy and do no damage as well even though i apear to hit him. For myself i have found that it seems to be very finicky where i am aiming as to whether or not it does damage. I can fire slightly behind the trajectory indicator and the bolts will appear to hit yet do no damage, yet ifI correct and aim precisely at the indicator they start doing damage again. Maybe its a lag issue or something that shows the hits connecting even though they don't.

A very simply solution was if they actualy show the damage youmake on screen, like the ground game...Why this is not showing in combat window or even on screen is very bad! We have to watch a tiny font with shield: **

Look, i'm not going to go through and count how many posts in this god-forsaken thread mentions that. And, if you think just a tiny, little bit about it, whether it's top, bottom, forward, back, through, you're talking about not being able to damage your target.


They're on it, they know it, wait until they fix it.





I was waiting until this forum began to swerve this direction. It seems every pessimistic flamer is here now. And it only took one whole week. Amazing. I have done nothing but try to help, I am now done.
