Well they could just have them default to some preset numbers, like 3500 for a MP ship, 2800 for a fighter etc.

My Nova is now down to 1711 max hit points. I know when to bug out- I also didn't diefor a very long time, and I am a master after all, and it's patronizing to suggest we're all doing it wrong.When you're flying a house it's not so easy to just turn and run, especially with a corvette paying special attention to you. I'm really, really, reallypissed off with chassis decay. My ship is like my house. I've decorated it, my friends come along and hang around on it, but it's now useless for combat. I don't see any point in spending another 1.5 million credits on another so to be in the same position again in 2 weeks time. It's a complete and total waste of money.
