It is not giving me the option to teach M.S. level one, do i have to get it from another pet, or just keep grinding him?

also with my stoneskin hanadak as soon as i tamed him i could teach him guarded stance (L3)

You'll have to find a baby that has Marring Storm L1 and fight with it until you learn that skill. Then you can train it to any of your other pets that have enough ability slots.
