Anyone else here using the old FLCS/TQS combo? I've got mine now for 8 years and they're still working fine.
Whoa. That brings back memories.I used to love mine. But after switching to the Evenstrain Cougar, I haven't looked back.

I might be able to afford the cougar or one of the mods for it. Both? Not in the foreseeable future
Would love to get one with HAL sensors though. Falcon IV junkie here
JTL Situational Awareness hard? Nah, try keeping track of 30 friendlies and 20 hostiles on a distorted radar screen while SAM's are being launched and you're dodging triple-A. ![]()

Yeah, I guess $1000 for a state-of-the-art game controller isn't something most people are willing to pay. hehehe. But let me tell ya, SEAD missions are a LOT easier, now.

I have a question about the Saitek X52
I saw the joystick on the Saitek website, but is the stick stable and heavy enough? I didn't saw anything to fix it on your desk or stuff like that on the picture.
-Thx

I like it, it's not as heavy as the 49, but it has 4 suction cups (the quality seems pretty nice) on the bottom of both the throttle assembly and the stick. I'm not having any issues with sliding even after extended gaming periods.
The ONLY thing I don't like about the 52 compared to the 49 is the fact that they removed the rudders from the throttle and made the stick a 'twisty', but as I stated above, with the addition of a decent pedal set that's negated. They even added a 'twist lock' to the stick, so I imagine they envisioned lots of people doing this.
A friend who's a professional pilot and REALLY into flightsims has some kind of Cougar setup, and while it's VERY nice, I'd have to say the X52 is the pinnacle of all but the top 2% of hardcore gamers.
My list?
Cougar 500-1k
X52 99
X49 79
The local CompUSA had the 52 and 49 both on display, so you might check around your local area for a hands-on demo of sorts.

Ibought the saitek x-52 because my x36f got worn out.also on the x52i had to wait until the code to use it was finally put into the game , thats what happens when you buy something that just came out. anyway I actually use 3 controllers to play this game the Saitek X52 for space combat, a Saitek action pad ($4.00 and set the dbl. function keys, thumb key for exceleration the rest for skill, inventory, both maps etc.etc.
for onthe planet and with my Logitech marble mouse to steer, the marble mouse is also used in space, but not to steer,so far this is the best way to play this game. count keyboard as the 4th controller. now how could you beat that.
the only issues that i have is when your on a mission for your rebel combat trainer you might not be able to beat it by yourself and needto enlist some backup, if anyone will groupwith you (help me with my mission and i will help with yours).if trying to beat it by yourself i think that is should be a little easier and you should at least be able to beat it alone.
