Thread: The Jedi StarFighter
1 or 2 days after RotW DDLlaunched a red name posted (think it was TH but could also be Darth_Platypus) that the dev team thought it was unfair to give out such a quest reward and let it become unusable when the player shifted faction. What are they supposed to do? Drop that reply every 2 days in here when someone starts a new thread about the "unfairness" of the ARC/JSF quest? They have taken that 10 minutes. How abouteveryone who starts a new thread on this subjecttaking 10 minutes tolook for a dev post on this subject.

Well, not a lot around here is making any sense, Sportiva. I really WOULD like to get an explanation from SOE on this topic, but tech support and customer support apparently doesn't extend to such things. I am remaining polite, inquisitive, and hopeful.
After all, an answer would take, what, 10 minutes out of somebody's day?
Getting one is simply a decision that must be made ingame, like any other. Do I become Jedi? Crafter or Combatant? Rebel or Imperial? Some are harder than others, and some are harder based on previous choice you've made. The limits on JSF access are not inherently unfair, and there's no point in pressing for a change, short of a new expansion with more quests, it's realistically not going to happen.

Didnt Anakin's Jedi Starfighter get destroyed along with Obi-Wan's when they crash landed into that shuttle platform at the start of Episode III? Both ended up spinning out of control, and then when the ship broke up into two in orbit the shuttle platform was the second half that drifted back into space. Those ships should be completely destroyed and torn appart.
If I'm right, then how is Darth Vader able to give it to you when it shouldnt really exist?

Just for the sake of the roleplay argumentMaybe because the company that build the ones obi-wan and anni flew werent the only ones the company had build? There could be a extensive stock of these vessels somewhere without us ever knowing about it
I'm sure Anakin had several in his datapad...

TBH, the whole cert system is baffling and a little annoying.....but in preserving the look of space combat it is probably needed.i.e. want one side to looka certain way, the other side to look different - should massive space battle start occuring....
Yeah, but when a massive space battle starts occuring many people will have the same fighters ANYWAY. This is why there are roughly equivalent ships for each faction. There are enough differences in the heavier ships to make combat a bit different for each faction; however when you get down to the light fighters the ships all had nearly the same stats (I think the Imperials got a bit ripped off with the mass on an Interceptor; another 5k would have been nice).
Personally, I would have preferred: Eta-1 for Rebel (make it the Anakin-style upgraded prototype test batch or something, made to see if the factory could duplicate Anakin's modifications), leave the Bel-22 for Neutral, faction limited. Then like CommTampers said, make them craftable.Quest giving schematic to bring to a Shipwright, even...imagine that, involving the rest of the community.
I also really would have preferred something more immersive than 'You must complete the quest in order to unpack this deed' or whatever. /rolleyes Nice content, guys.
I was meaning matching appearance. The Actis II looks like the precursor to TIE fighters, which is what they are no doubt meant to be (Lucas does not feel bound by Expanded Universe explanations of where things come from) whereas the ARC looks like the precursor to the X-Wing. Thus, by giving the Actis to Imperials, it keeps one side having TIE appearance craft.
